The studio is spacious and the locker rooms are really nice. As an added bonus, there is a steam room. The instructors undergo Bikram's training program based in California. The instructors have been great, understanding, and will take their time to explain certain postures. If you don't mind being in a room heated to 100 degrees and undergoing a series of postures for 90 minutes then this might be something to try. I always feel refreshed after taking a class here.

Ok, Bodywork Bistro is not a high end spa--do not expect a steam room or any of the frills that come with a large resort spa.

Bodywork Bistro, however is an excellent place to get a massage and take a yoga class! This makes Bodywork Bistro unique because there are not many places that offer this combination. I came here for the Thai massage and was pleasantly surprised. The therapist was knowledgeable and used her weight to stretch and target specific muscle areas. Another thing that makes Bodywork Bistro great is that they have really unique workshops and sometimes bring in musical guests.

I have been to a few of the CorePower yoga studios in the area, and each studio has its own feel and atmosphere. The location lends itself to a commercial area and parking was easy to find. Compared to the Corepower yoga studios located in Boulder or in central Denver, there are less classes available here (is it because this studio is less frequented?). In addition to there being less variety here, the evening and morning time slots tend to be limited. The instructor was hands off but seemed to be very experienced. The studio was clean and the class was very crowded.

I have lived in the Boulder area for several years and have always wanted to try Essentials. I came here for a massage. Scheduling an appointment was painless, easy, and the guest services employee was friendly. The locker rooms were spacious and clean. The massage was not the best massage I have ever had. The male therapist seemed nervous and the pressure was OK. The whole process seemed a bit mechanical. The small steam room and sauna are an added bonus to any service. If I were to come here again, I would try a different service and request a different therapist.

I came here for the Moor Mud Wrap and 45 minute Focused Massage. The spa is easy to find and I didn't have trouble parking. The changing room was a bit awkward because it was coed. Even though there was a curtain in front of the shower, I would feel very uncomfortable taking a shower in a coed room.

The massage therapist was very kind and the moor mud was warm and felt nourishing. The massage at best, was average. The treatment room was located next to the nail station and I could hear people talking and laughing as I was receiving a massage. The bath soak post the moor body wrap was a nice way to end the treatment. The treatment room and the service included a bath tub soak. While I am not one to want to soak in a bath, I preferred this option to wash off the mud because I didn't want to take a shower in the coed changing room.

I have had a lot of massages and can tell you that my massage was great. My therapist checked in with me to ensure that my pressure was OK and/or if I was comfortable. Prior to making the appointment I was told that guests would get a complimentary mimosa. I was really looking forward to a mimosa and was not offered one. During my massage, another person other than my therapist had walked into my room. It startled me and I would not expect this of a high end spa. Further, when I had walked into the steam room the room smelled of mildew/mold and it deterred me from staying in the steam room longer. In addition, the locker rooms were not adequately stocked. When I checked out, the front desk employee asked me how everything was, I told her the massage was great but that someone had walked into the treatment room and/or the steam room was somewhat moldy. The front desk employee really didn't really know what to say and seemed indifferent.

Even though the massage was great, I was caught off guard by a few things.

I came here for a hair cut. On Broadway is quaint, cute, and warm. My hair stylist was attentive, had years of experience, and he took his time. Some places will rush you through a service and/or will try to up-sell yon products. This was not the case, I felt that the hair stylist was taking his time and genuinely cared about the service and/or giving a good hair cut.

I have been to a lot of spas and can tell you that there is something different about the space. The spa is small and independently owned so you are not going to get the amenities of a luxury hotel spa (IE; no steam room, no sauna, no hot tub, etc.). If you are interested in wellness, however, then this might be more of a place for you. I have had a facial, a massage, and have been waxed here. The aesthetician was able to educate me about natural, organic products and skin care, and the massage therapist was intuitive and listened to what was important to me. The massage I had gotten here was more targeted to muscles specifically than other places that tout themselves as a "luxury spa". In addition, the staff members were down to earth and friendly (I didn't get the pretentious vibe that I do from other places).

The massage was professional and the pressure was perfect. The massage therapist kept checking in with me about the pressure. The facilities and the locker room are an added bonus. It was nice to sit in the hot tub post massage. The only drawback was that during the massage I could hear outside noise. I would come back and recommend this place.
