great time at Hush!
I was a little apprehensive about the appointment I had as I had read a previous review however I had a great time at Hush and have now bought a new voucher for another session (and one for a friend). The ambience at the salon was welcoming and relaxed. The massage was fabulous, pedicure excellent and the varnish has lasted really well. Manicure experience was also very relaxing and I can recommend the salon. Next time I am going to make sure I leave longer so I can relax for longer in the conservatory area after my treatment. Already booked in for January for a repeat session. Can't wait! Thanks especially to Janet for her personal treatments.

Heaven is a little place called "hush"
Was a birthday treat from my brother. Arrived 1/2 hour early but wasn't a problem. Snuggled on their sofa reading my book. My pamper session was a back massage ( on a heated bed ) and pedicure and manicure. My therapist was Sue. Lovely lady. Had such a laugh. Bought their special offer of the month as a christmas pressie for mum and me. Sssshhhh

Groupon Offer - Manicure, Pedicure and Head, Neck and Shoulder Massage
Me and my sister decided to treat ourselves to the above Spa treatment and now wished we hadnt have bothered. We were told on the Voucher it would be a 90min treatment in total. Didnt mention the 40 minute wait for it to actually start. I had my massage first, which wasnt the above. It was just a back massage, it was nice but wasnt what I was wanting. My sister had a manicure/pedicure first. I knew this as she was in the room next to me and could hear every word of their converstation. Not very relaxing. My sister then waited in the seating area 20mins for her massage while I had my manicure and pedicure. Ive never had a pedicure before but I do a better job myself. Plus my manicure, badly painted and chipped the same day! I was then sat 20mintues wating for my sister. So a 90min treatment ended up being 2hrs 15mins. Most of the time spend on the settee's.

Manicure & Pedicure
Upon arrival at Hush, I was shown to their lovely garden area and offered refreshments. It was particularly busy and they were running about 20mins behind schedule. However, the relaxed service was most welcome, especially as I got to enjoy the sunshine on the terrace prior to my treatments! The manicure and pedicure (which I purchased via Groupon) were first class and I walked away feeling fantastic. I purchased a 2nd voucher directly from Hush and am looking forward to returning. Of note, it is definitely worth booking in advance as it was difficult for them to get me in within a week or so due to the offer being so popular.

Such a shame....
I visited this spa today with my sister who had bought vouchers through a website. We both had booked for a facial and a pedicure. We were the first customers of the day and on entering the spa facilities were impressed, it has a lovely ambience. We were given a drink. We were then kept waiting for 20 mins as the staff chatted upstairs. I had the facial first which was very nice and was thinking that I must get a price list to book in for regular treats. The pedicure then followed, it was to say the least 'basic', not even a foot soak never mind the heated booties that one reviewer got, just a nail file a cursory rasp of hard skin and then polish which is a less than professional job and a quick slap of moisturiser. I am going to give my feet a diy treatment this evening, noone would believe I'd had a pedicure today! It is a real shame as it has got the potential to be a lovely spa.

Lovely, relaxing experience - good massage and lunch
I visited Hush earlier today (16.7.11) having bought Groupon vouchers for myself and a friend as a treat. Was a bit worried what to expect after reading earlier reviews - needn't have been. We were offered a drink as soon as we arrived and asked to choose our nail colours - we'd both booked a massage and pedicure. After 10 mins, my friend was called to have her pedicure and 5 mins later I was called for my aromatherapy neck and shoulder massage. I have had several massages and this was one of the best - we then sat back in the comfortable waiting area and were offered another drink - 5 minutes later we were having our second treatment. The pedicure included heated booties and was in a treatment room (rather than on-show) - this was also very good. We then had lunch and fruit juice (we're both veggies) - egg and cheese finger sandwiches, houmous, coleslaw, crisps, cucumber and celery dippers and cherry tomatoes - it was lovely. Fresh bowls of apples and cherries were also out for all customers to nibble on. It's a small salon so don't expect 5 star spa hotel amenities - you can hear some background noise in the treatment rooms but this didn't spoil our enjoyment. We've booked to go again. Enjoy!

Do not go to this spa if you are actually wanting any treatments! I went along 5 minutes early for my appointment and was told to sit downstairs in the sunroom. All very lovely - nice sofas, magazines and that is exactly where it ends. After 45 minutes of being completely ignored by various therapists I casually asked when my treatments would begin. The therapist then launched into a long dialogue of how busy they were and how bejind they were and how much work she had to do before she could even think about me. I explained I was not interested in her schedule - but that I had been left for a long time with no explanation and not even the offer of a drink. She was unashamably unapologetic and did nothing to rectify the situation. I left the saloon and vow never to go back.

Living Social Voucher Spa Experience
We don't know if it's because we used the above but we felt that the customer service was severely lacking. There was confusion when booking as to how many treatments we were allowed to have with the voucher and then again on arrival. The spa itself is stylish and clean with a lovely sunroom at the back looking out on to the garden. We were shown to the sunroom and served a light lunch which was tasty and a coffee. But after a good start, it was down hill all the way. We were left waiting ages for our 1st treatment and again there was confusion as to what we were allowed to have. It should have been four treatments each but apparently they were busy and could only fit us in for two. I had a pedicure which was adequate. My daughter had a head, neck and back massage which she enjoyed but then was told that she couldn't have the St. Tropez tan that she'd booked in for because of the massage oils. And then they forgot about us! For an hour and twenty minutes. They had no other customers in and could have easily fitted in the four treatments. By the time I had my facial, I was too stressed to enjoy it. We were given gift vouchers for a return visit as compensation but to be honest the whole experience has put me off returning.

Facial and cut and blow dry
I arrived at the salon five minutes early and was asked to sit downstairs, the building was gorgeous and has the potential to be a brilliant spa. I was left waiting for twenty minutes before anyone came to see me, I wasn't offered a drink for my whole visit. The facial itself was really good, it didn't feel rushed at all and the therapist read my mood really well and didn't try to engage me in chit chat which was much appreciated. However, the relaxing element of the facial was ruined as the room back directly onto another treatment room which had two members of staff chatting away in, the walls must have been paper thin because I could hear the whole conversation - hardly conducive to a relaxing atmosphere! There must have been a hand dryer mounted on the wall too, which was very loud. The shampoo was painful with the lad who was doing it being far too vigorous. The cut was fine, but the salon as a whole seemed lacking in customer service. As I left there were two members of staff sat outside in the sun near the main road with a speaker blasting music out (more council estate than spa!). Another peeve would be that they were playing the whole Simply Red album while I was there, again, not relaxing.

the first time i visited this beauty salon i was seated and waited 15 minutes before being told that they had in fact booked me in for a spa day rather than a cut and finish. They blamed this on a new receptionist. After rebooking for a wash, cut, blow dry, condition treatment and scalp massage, the staff were friendly and seemed to be experienced. she cut my hair nice but did not listen to how i wanted it styled. i never received any scalp massage and i presume this special extra cost condition treatment was in fact just conditioner. While i was there a member of staff was breezing about dying her own hair-while in uniform with the receptionist doing her hair. Quite high prices but beautiful salon.
