I had a pedicure which was done by Julia. The end result was very pretty and she was a doll. I recommend her for any other services she offers as she is pleasant and skilled. However, this was NOT a spa pedicure, the chair was a makeshift something that reminded me of a doctors exam table with the back in the upright position (no stir-ups, but maybe they had been removed or just concealed by the draping cloth that covered the whole thing?) it was hard, and angled so that my lower back immediately began to ache. There was a big metal bowl of tepid water with rocks in it at the foot of the exam table chair which I had to bend my knees way up to get my feet in, which put more strain on my lower back muscles and was extremely uncomfortable, Julia asked if I wanted it hotter and I did so she picked up the bowl, took it to another room, added hot water and carried it back to our little room where there was no sink or water source of any kind. I put my feet back in the bowl, which hit the back of my calf, and any movement resulted water spilling out on the draping cloth. Luckily not enough spilled out to get my behind wet but very close. I came very close to getting up and saying no thanks right then, but Julia was so sweet so I just sat there and suffered in that horrible chair to spare her feelings and by the time she was done my back was very sore, there was a crease in the back of each calf from the lip of the metal bowl and black paint on my leg, also from the bowl, which Julia removed with acetone, thankfully. I want to be clear in stating again that Julia's service was good and her personality is sweet. I don't mean to critisize the salon itself or the owner Jaime, whom I met and seemed pleasant, and the decor was tasteful and tranquil. I am writing this review in hopes of sparing other customers the discomfort of that chair, especially if you have back issues of any kind, choose another salon unless or until adequate equipment is purchased and provided for the pedicurist. The price was high and
I apreciate your response to this matter and it has not been brought to my attention until now. I have a plan to fix the comfortablatly in the room for the pedicure chair itself. It is a facial bed that we thought would be a cofortable and different way of reciving a pedicure. I guess you will never know until you try it. Or someone lets you know to fix it. Thank you for you information it will be used wisely. I hope you will change your mind and visit us again after the changes are made.
