Mandara Spa at Aruba Marriott Ocean Club

The Aruba Marriott Ocean Club is located along the western shores of Aruba’s famed Palm Beach, overlooking the Caribbean Sea. At the center of the resort’s relaxation amenities is a Mandara Spa, the brand’s first location in the Caribbean. With Balinese-style interiors and unique services, the spa creates a spiritual oasis of tranquility, youthfulness and wellbeing for guests to indulge in trademark Indonesian-inspired rituals that incorporate both Eastern and Western influences and techniques. In addition, guests can keep on target with their wellness goals at the fitness center, which sports cardiovascular equipment, on the tennis court and in the pool or surf.

The Mandara Spa Aruba is located on the ground floor of Aruba Marriott Ocean Club. The 6,500-square-meter spa hosts 12 treatment rooms, including four VIP suites for couples with Jacuzzi baths or Vichy showers, plus eight individual treatment rooms. The Balinese-designed spa also offers guests indoor and outdoor relaxation areas, a steam room and nail salon.

The Mandara Spa offers a compilation of Balinese services with a North American twist that balance body and mind. Offerings include microdermabrasion; teeth whitening; cucumber, frangipani and coconut milk wraps; massage services (even cabana chair massage on the beach); and Elemis and La Therapie facials designed to target the signs of stress and aging. Romantics can unwind in tandem with the Caribbean Lovers Ritual, a combination of an aromatherapy footbath or bathing ritual, followed by a Mandarin Balinese body polish and 50-minute Massage de la Aruba; treatments like the Mother-and-Daughter Paradise Massage and Father-and-Son Chill-Out Massage allow families to get their spa-on together. There is also an extensive menu just for teens.

Minimum spa age: 16.

Facilities & Amenities

Fun-filled days await guests at Aruba Marriott Ocean Club. Set along the shores of the famed two-mile-long stretch of white sand christened Palm Beach, guests are within close proximity of some of Aruba’s vibrant shops, bars, piers, restaurants, and of course, the turquoise Caribbean waters. Ocean enthusiasts have a medley of nearby aquatic sports activities at their disposal such as scuba diving, surfing and sailing, or they can rent a jet-ski, wave-runner or catamaran for the day (the De Palm Tours and Red Sail Sports are popular tour companies in the area). The beach scene can be viewed from the resort’s outdoor free-form swimming pool or whirlpool as well.

Golfers can play a round on one of two golf courses — the Links at Divi Aruba course or the Tierra del Sol Golf & Country Club — located one mile away, while hikers can trek 20 rugged miles that wind through the region’s spectacular Arikok National Park. Aruba also offers exotic attractions like an ostrich farm and butterfly farm that families can enjoy, and the resort is adjacent to a casino.
