About South-Western Bathhouse

South-Western Bathhouse is dedicated to preserving the authentic Russian Bathhouse tradition. The spa invites guests to join in this cultural staple. The Bathhouse offers a homey atmosphere, designed to resemble a good friend's cottage in St. Petersburg. The high ceilings are adorned with Russian antiques such as Samovars and teapots. The Russian banya is made from cedar wood, contains a red brick stove and offers four levels of heat depending on where a guest sits. The fire is fed with apple, birch, oak and cherry for their pleasant aromas when burning. Guests can grab a Venyk (oak or birch leaves) and as the Russians do, use it for an exfoliating massage. Staff is thrilled to recommend tips and techniques when asked. The Turkish hammam features mosaic tiles, an arched ceiling and a back-lit pool of water for a relaxing experience. The Finnish Sauna is built with pine and cedar benches and is a dry, high heat sauna where no water is used. All guests receive robes, slippers, towels, lockers and all-you-can-drink premium teas in the tea room.

Customer Reviews for South-Western Bathhouse (1)

Pleasantly Surprised!
I've been to a lot of Russian bathhouses and usually found the staff to be a bit abrasive, the facilities not very clean and the food a bit plain. I mostly go for health benefits because it relieves my muscle pain. This place surprised me like no other. It was VERY clean. The owners work the shifts themselves and are very attentive. They also cook all the food from scratch. The decor is also very striking and makes you feel relaxed and at home. It has become my favorite Russian Banya. I bought a 10 visit pass (you save about 60 bucks that way) and will be returning!
