After getting a gc for my b-day, I choose the massage and facial package. I was a little confused when I got there. The place is in an office building. I did not realize that they had their own separate entrance, so I walked into the front door of the office building and found their door. Apparently I walked into the back door of their spa. Oops. It was a little weird, but no big deal. I had my massage first. It was very good massage. Pressure was great and he really seemed to find the sore spots. The one negative was that when I flipped over onto my tummy, I had to put my face into an uncovered a little donut hole thing. It was just cold vinyl ( or whatever it is made out of), but definitely not soft or cozy. It was a little off putting and took away from the massage a bit. I kept wondering if it had been cleaned. I know that it probably had, but it was in my head and distracted me from enjoying the massage.
On to the facial....I was so excited to get my facial. It had been such a long time since I had one. I know my skin needed the attention. It was disappointing. I was looking forward to having my pores cleaned out, but that never happened. She said I did not need it, but when I look in the mirror it seems that is all I see. Ok, no biggie. The bad part was that after she put the mask on my face, she left me in the room alone for what seemed like an eternity. It was at least 20 minutes. It totally killed the experience. It was not a terribly relaxing facial, so when she got to that point, I was totally awake and aware. It was not fun just sitting there in the room. The longer I sat there, the more it bothered me. I feel like I was paying a significant amount of money for her time, but was not getting that. I could put a mask on myself at home and just sit there. At least at home I could read or something.
Overall, the massage was good and I would probably go back for that, but I would not go back for another facial
First of all, we get raves about how relaxing, quiet, and clean our space is. Please, when you come here use our front door!
Second, the "little donut hole thing" is leather, cleaned and disinfected after every client, and is designed for use without a cover. It enables you to breathe better when face down. We have a choice of face cradles, with or without covers, and ALWAYS ask if you are comfortable or need any adjustment. In addition, almost every first time client comments that the massage table is the most comfortable they have ever experienced (it should be - it is a $6,000 massage table).
Third, the professional-grade masks used during the facials are, for the most part, 10 minutes; one takes 20 minutes. This particular client had the 20-minute mask (a Betaplex Clear Complexion Mask)! We take care to keep you informed on procedures. Your comfort and relaxation during the entire facial, including the masking time, is one of our goals. Maria, our esthetician / owner, has over 15 years of experience and thousands of extremely happy clients. She uses that experience to make the appropriate judgment call for your skin. Be assured when you come through her door you will enjoy a top-notch professional treatment based on your skin type - most say it is the best facial they have ever had!
Customer satisfaction is our number one priority. Had this client voiced her concerns we would have happily addressed them.
