Here is a new concept that caught my attention. A press release just crossed my desk introducing the new Facelogic Spa. It’s a pretty simple concept, but I think it hits the mark and may, as they suggest in their PR, become the next franchising phenomenon.
Basically, Facelogic Spas are going to offer affordable high-quality skin care services and signature products for a very low price. The ambiance is supposed to be modern with a fresh and sophisticated flair. I assume that their website, which is quite attractive, gives a taste of what people will experience.
Prices for a 50-minute facial will be as low as $39! Since the average price of a facial at most spas in the U.S. is about $75 (and higher at resort spas), Facelogic’s price should be very appealing. They launched in Carlsbad, CA and have already sold 33 locations at a price of $29,900 for each franchise.
Their concept is similar to the wildly successful Curves franchise, which grew from three locations in 1996 to 8,000 locations in 2004. In fact, former Curves president Gary Findley is developing Facelogic’s program and fueling the franchise sales.
I think it has great promise…..the idea of a monthly (or weekly) facial at such an affordable price should be of interest to many. And it will bring in people who have never felt they could afford a spa. Another attraction? They take walk-ins!
