I read with amusement the article in this morning’s New York Times (Thursday “Style” section) about Alex Kuczynski’s shopping experience at the two Fred Segal stores in LA. Wouldn’t you know it–she experienced the same “attitude” I did and gives some pretty hysterical descriptions of being scowled at in the shoe department, ignored in the boutique, abandoned in the dressing room, and admonished by the manager. I am feeling a bit of glee, in that I am not alone in having been “discounted.” It’s only small consolation, however; they have such cool clothes that I will likely have to get up the nerve and visit again. But first I need some time to recover.
