The 24,000-square-foot Ananda Spa has 21 treatment rooms and four consultation rooms; additional amenities include a steam room, a sauna, and a Kama, or couple's suite. The spa's East-meets-West approach blends ancient Ayurvedic techniques (60% of the extensive spa menu is based on Ayurvedic principles) with modern Western therapies. Personal guides consult and customize programs aimed at helping guests de-stress, detoxify, and lose weight. The spa is bathed in burgundy and saffron colors with soft music, calming fragrances, and scenic landscape views adding to the serene ambiance. Guests can unwind with the signature Abhyanga treatment, which begins with a prayer, followed by a foot bath and a four-hands full-body massage, or opt for the spa's signature Ananda Fusion treatment, a combination of Thai, reflexology, deep-tissue, Tibetan, and Swedish massage techniques tailored toward each guest's specific needs.

Anada spa resorts Rishikesh is the good resort. Its facilities are too much impressive and fast enough. staff services are also fine and spa products provided by the resort is also high quality which are very care and beneficial for body. Suites are nice and well structured and furniture is also beautiful in dining area. The environment of Rishikesh is very delightful here i feel like i come in city of peace.

Serenity and Care

Recently spent 5 days at Ananda with my mother. We both felt so relaxed and cared for! The Spa treatments were AMAZING, far better than any I've experienced elsewhere. I particularly liked the Tibetan Massage while my mother really loved the Rose Facial. The food was INCREDIBLE, quite varied and delicious! Our rooms (overlooking the Ganges) and the surroundings were extremely beautiful. And we loved watching the resident peacocks and monkeys!

A vacation for your mind, body and soul. Truly Tranquil.

I was trekking in the upper Himalayas and checked into Ananda with every bone in my body hurting and aching. By the time I checked out, I was soothed and rejuvinated, with new found zest to take on the challenges of my profession. Hats off to the fantastic group of people who run Ananda! Nested in the wooded foothills of the Himalayas, the location is idyllic and borders the immaculate. The quality of service is up there with the top rated 5 Star Hotels in India. But what sets Ananda apart is the pristine tranquility inside its premises - the soft clinging of the chimes, the melodious rhythms of traditional Indian music, the serenely-white dress code and the soft chirping of the monal birds. For the first time in many a vacation, I forced myself to switch off my cell phone to soak in the aura of Ananda. The spa menu is truly diverse and lets you choose from a wide collection of Ayurvedic and International treatments. The warm pebble treatment is strongly recommended, as is the "Ananda Touch" massage. A consultation with ananda'a ayurvedic doctors helped me understand the idea of "preventive maintenence" of the human body through lifestyle changes. Some of the inputs I received were truly eye-opening. While the cuisine could do with some more variety and the absence of an indoor pool can make things a tad inconvenient in winter, on the whole, Ananda is perhaps the most perfect getaway for a weeklong vacation in the laps of the Himalayas, on the stairway to heaven.

The Ananda is truly exquisite; a wonderful combination of relaxation, rejuvenation and a little learning too! I thoroughly enjoyed the Ayurveda practice and learning about my Dosha Type. Since my visit, I've incorporated foods into my daily diet suggested to me by the on-site specialist and have noticed a refreshing change in my body and spirit.

Well worth the journey

Ananda in the Himalayas is not easy to get to from New York but I can honestly say that all the travel is well worth it. After arriving from Delhi at Jolly Grant Airport in Dehradun, you are met by an elegantly clad driver who takes you up a winding road past Rishikesh, the birthplace of Yoga. A first glimpse of monkeys by the roadside let's you know that you are far, far away from home. Ananda is a palace - literally. The Indian "welcome greeting" sets the tone as one feels so welcomed by all the staff. The sounds, smells and view from my room were breathtaking. I could have spent countless hours gazing at the Himalayas, listening to the shrill calls of peacocks and chirping sounds of the birds, marveling at the Ganges River and the sweeping vista views of the valley. But there was so much more to experience. The yoga was outstanding, the food amazing (kudos to Chef Gupta). I was not expecting to have such a broad selection of spa cuisine: Indian, Western, Asian and Ayurvedic and I tried them all. But the piece de resistance is, of course, the spa. My treatments were out of this world. The Abyhanga was given by two young Indian therapists whose movements were perfectly choreographed. My Kundalini treatment was unlike anything I've experienced before thanks to Llhamo. As a destination spa, Ananda in the Himalayas truly delivers a transformative experience. It's a place I will never foget
