Spa - Ha
This was the worst spa experience I have ever had. I wanted to try this spa and when I received a living social deal email, I bought it. I should have known better. My appointment was at 3:30 and I was told to arrive at 3:15 for the relaxation room. The relaxation room is the lobby though they did serve champagne but it is not like a spa where you don a robe and relax. At 3:40, now ten minutes after my appointment time, I was told the employee was stuck in traffic and it would be at least another 10 minutes. If you are like me, i work, have kids and have a schedule so there went any relaxation right out the window. I was asked if I want to reschedule. Seriously? I want to drive another 20 minutes each way after a bad experience. They couldn't refund my money since it was that voucher but they did mark it as being used already. They have no manager or owner available to talk with or anyone with accountability for this poor experience. I would not go here, I would not recommend it to anyone that wants a nice, client centric spa.

Extremely, Friendly Service
I searched for hours to find a spa with a good reputation in the Charlotte area and finally decided on Urbana. It was a surprise for my boyfriend and I wasn't about to let him go alone. ;) The spa is relaxing, clean, and friendly... a little too friendly. We had our massages in the same room, I got my back worked on, he got his hands. I was told the girl working on him kept brushing into his hand, more than twice. They both did a fantastic job other than the slip-ups, but he never wants to go back. Afterward, you get a complimentary tea of choice while resuming reality. All in all, I had a good experience but I am currently back on the hunt for a place to frequent that we both enjoy.

Best Facial I have ever had!
I visited Urbana last week and had Laura as my massage therapist. She was excellent and very professional! Would definitely go back and request her services!

Great Experience ~ Highly recommend
I bought a 75 minute coconut infusion massage through Living Social along with my daughter. We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived. The atmosphere is very unique. The waiting area is a tea bar with dim lights and relaxing music. I was offered complimentary tea or water while I filled out my paperwork. I have chemical sensitivities, and when I told the receptionist, she had my massage therapist, Mitzi, come out and let me test the oil that was going to be used. She understands holistic medicine, so she was very open to what I was doing. I was concerned about the time since with recent Groupon and Living Social spa services I have not been given the entire time that was paid for. The receptionist assured me that we would be given the full 75 minutes. When I went back to undress, Mitzi said that they allow five minutes to dress and undress. That's fair. Mitzi asked me about the pressure that I wanted and she did a great job working out the stress in my muscles. I don't like a really firm touch, but something in between. She did great and did not talk to me during the massage which is something they ask you if you want on the paperwork. The spa is very clean and the rooms are dark...no windows. The sheets were clean and fresh on the massage table. The music was very relaxing and I was pleasantly surprised when she finished to look at the clock and see that she gave me the full 70 minutes. My daughter was there with me getting the same massage in another room, and her experience was fantastic as well. I live in Atlanta, but I will be looking for more deals at this spa and will plan to go back when I am in town. After the massage, we were given a hot tea of our choice. They have a very large selection. The Almond Cookie Green Tea was fabulous. My daughter bought a bag to take home. Overall, it was fun mother/daughter day out and I hope to go back soon.

Unique and relaxing
The teabar is so cool and different-- very unique compared to other spas and waiting around really does become relaxing. A cup of tea and skimming a magazine? It's like being at home, only better. THEN its onto the actul service, which is just as good. Definitely go!

The ultimate in relaxation and couple time.
My husband and I visited Urbana Cityspa & Teabar last night for a Couples Swedish Blend Massage. It was great! We started out by filling out some paperwork and enjoying a cup of tea. I had the Green Tea Almond Cookie. It was so good! Our therapists brought us to a room with two massage tables. The room was nice, but it did not feel like a super-special place, which is what I was hoping for. It turned out to be just great anyway. We got comfortable on our own tables which were a few feet away from each other. I wish they were closer so that we could have interacted with each other a little more. We did have fun though chatting with out therapists and each other. (I had originally wanted a quiet massage, but I simply was not capable of being quiet for some reason.) I did not think I was going to like the massage at all because I have had massages before and each time felt it was a waste of money, but not this time. My massage was so relaxing and enjoyable. It was not at all painful or uncomfortable. What a relief! My husband thoroughly enjoyed his massage. We were in there for an hour, but could have easily spent another hour there if we had enough disposable income to do that... We highly recommend

If you are visiting the Lake Norman area of Charlotte North Carolina, this is a little gem. A friend of mine had a great experience at this new place at Birkdale Village in Huntersville, and she wanted to know how I would compare it to the spas I've been to in Cali. Got to say, I was impressed. The staff, the room and the public areas, the incredible massage, I loved it all. It has a very zen feel that I carried with me long after I left. I will return!

RELAXING Charlotte Style
From Charlotte, live in NYC. Every time I visit home, I make an appointment for a massage at Urbana (usually hot stone or Thai floor massage -- awesome!!!), and I usually end up spending a lot of time at the teabar while I'm in town. The lounge is SOOO RELAXING, even (especially?) by NYC standards. From the music to the couches to the lighting, they make every detail perfect. I saw they won "Best Massage" in Charlotte and they deserve it, but the tea is also worth the trip! I love to relax there over perfectly-brewed jasmine pearls or an icy matcha latte even when I'm not coming in for a massage. They have over 100 teas, so there really is something for everyone, even if you think you don't like tea because you've only had bags before. :)

I have seen two different specialists here for the "olympian' deep tissue massage. This is a REAL deep tissue, wonderful and so helpful to those of us who suffer from painful muscle knots and tightness. Both massage therapists had wonderful personalities and were extremely good at what they do. I have had the two best deep tissue massages of my life so far at Urbana! I highly recommend it to all!
