Sophisticated yet soothing, Sense, A Rosewood Spa™ seamlessly blends the beauty and traditions of its natural surroundings in both treatments and design. Inspired by Northern California's coastal forests, treatments incorporate elements indigenous to the region such as laurel, oak, and yerba buena. The decor of the spa incorporates neutral hues, oversized windows, walnut and slate flooring, local artwork, and woven-raffia ceilings. There are 13 treatment rooms in the 17,000-square-foot spa, including two couple's suites with outdoor gardens and whirlpools. Additional amenities include a movement studio, full-service salon, café, boutique, and separate men's and women's locker rooms with wet lounges. The heart of the spa is its coed relaxation room that opens to a courtyard with a fountain; guests can also unwind in the Wellness Library, stocked with books on stress reduction, meditation, and healthy living.

Most of the guest rooms and suites are housed in 13 stand-alone cottages, surrounded by manicured gardens or the hotel's swimming pool. Designed to "draw the outside in," accommodations offer private balconies or terraces that make the most of picturesque mountain or garden views. The two-bedroom Presidential Suite Villa boasts floor-to-ceiling windows, a fireplace, and a private lawn.
The signature Madera restaurant serves American cuisine that blends bold flavors and the region's rich bounty with a hint of local culture. Madera, or wood in Spanish, centers around its artisan wood-burning kitchen, and both indoor and outdoor dining options allow for scenic views; two dining rooms outfitted with terraces and fireplaces are also available for private functions. Health-conscious guests can enjoy low-fat, balanced breakfasts and lunches at the Spa Café. The Pool, open seasonally, serves light fare and smoothies.
