The golden rule of any business is to honor your appointments. So imagine my surprise being turned away for my 5pm appointment having made it the previous afternoon, due to 'therapist availability issues'. Apparently attempts had been made to contact me during the day on my mobile (no missed calls....) and at my hotel (no call was taken, and no message was left...). No attempt or effort was made by Verve 360 to make the situation better, nor was a rescheduled appointment offered. If you want your appointment honored, avoid this place like the plague.

I went in for simple bang trim. Just bangs. Nothing else. My hair WAS all one length halfway down my back with a 1 inch section of bangs. A very simple style. ZERO layers. Instead of parting out the bangs and trimming just those, DeAndre started free styling with scissors, sliding them from from the top of my head through my hair. I now have bangs that are twice as thick as I had before and sections of hair that will take a year to grow back. There are wings on the side of my head. There are pieces of hair hanging at my cheekbones and pieces that are different lengths all over the place so its not even possible to use a curling iron. The irony? The bangs are still too long and hanging in my eyes. When someone comes to the salon for a bang trim, don't try to give them a new style. Listen to the customer. Look at the existing cut!! If there are no layers, ASK before putting them in. I feel so violated that DeAndre felt he could completely ignore my wishes and change my appearance. LADIES BE WARNED. If DeAndre has scissors in his hand. Run.

Massage from Heaven!
I had been suffering from severe pain in my shoulder and neck, so I scheduled a massage with Aubrey. Of the many therapeutic massages I have received over the years, this was among the very best. My pain was relieved almost instantly. Aubrey can sense where her clients need the most relief, and she delivers. I hightly recommend Verve for anyone looking for quality bodywork.

Place to be ladies!
Ive been in all of the local salons and spas downtown and I finally found my home. I practically live here along with all the other Verve followers. Where do you find ownership that cares? Services that is far beyond expectation? Pilates and Yoga classes that are second to none (thanks for listening guys)! Just when you think you wont find it there it is. See you Tuesday :)

be cautious
While Verve's services (including massage) are top notich, it was clear to me from the minute I entered the business that the owner was interested only in my money. I was very put off by his rude and crass demeanor, and while talking with other clients while I was there he made it clear that he considered women to be frivilous. I also was an enthusiastic student of the Pilates classes taught there, but Verve recently fired their only decent instructor (who was excellent!) I may have to follow her to whereever she went, as I refuse to be treated this way by a business. Women, stay away! This is not a business that cares for your wellness.
Response from Verve Wellness
Obviously this client was angry about the well deserved firing of a former instructor. I am the owner, a women, trust me your safe ladies. Its interesting to me that Linda attacks one of the only males that work at Verve - personal contention with males I would question. Take into consideration that the man whom Linda speaks of has 2 daughters who adore him along with a staff of over 20 women who feel the same. You dont get into this business if you dont like people in general. This client obviously has a personal opinion she should have kept to herself as this could be viewed as slander and mistruth. Its a shame that the web cant tell the difference between lies and truth. WELCOME LADIES AND GENTLEMEN! THE WOMEN OWNER :)

The Review is Better Than the Star Rating
January 20 2010 I found this SPA on Spa Finder. I was looking for a place to get a facial after arriving in town for a conference. I had a terrible cold and thought a facial would be perfect. Not sure how many folks have ever looked for a SPA in downtown Pittsburgh but there is not much. After reading the reviews on this site about the SPA in my hotel (Omni) I figured I better look around. I read the review and thought I would give it a try. It was great. Now the stars above might say (3) but for what it is- it's a 5. It's nothing fancy or luxurious but it's cool and different and Bre who gave me my facial was awesome. Everyone who worked there was very nice and professional but the place doubles as a Yoga and Pilates studio. You don't get a locker or slippers but you get a great service. It's a little noisy but I managed to fall asleep for part of the facial. Bre gave me a deep pore their house special and I felt like a new person when I left. If I had been feeling better I would have stayed for a Yoga class. Nice place and very friendly. Would definitely go back.

Breath of fresh air
I recently visited Verve for the first time. I work downtown and being able to squeeze in a mini facial during my lunch break was awesome! Anna Cherrette does a fantastic job and the atmostphere is very calming. I will definitely go back!
