Urbanna Natural Spa & Salon

After moving to Spokane in October, I was in need of a new salon and stylist. I am always apprehensive about going to new hair stylists - you never know what you will find! I was thrilled to find Urbanna and have Tracie as my stylist. She listened to my preferences in cutting my hair and did not do anything I didn't like or approve first. I will definitely return to her for my future hair needs!

I have been going to Urbanna since they opened several years ago. I get many services done routinely--hair by Kayla Hansen and facials by the owner, Linda Biel. I can't say enough good things about both of them as well as everyone else there. Always courteous and professional and such a relaxing, beautiful atmosphere. I am a spa maniac and have been to many all over the country. I have high standards and I definitely recommend Urbanna!

I had a two color foil and haircut at Urbana. I asked the stylist for minimal streaking and a natural look. She used a foil pattern that left ridges along the top of my head, and left as much as half an inch of roots in some areas. I had a crooked line along my forehead. She charged around $180.00 for the botched service. I went back to have her fix it, showed her where the foils didn't reach the roots. Rather than apologizing and fixing it, she said "I'm usually pretty good about that." She was unable to fix my hair. It's been a month, my hair still has a crooked color line along my forehead, and I already need to have it re-colored. Usually, I only need to have my hair colored once every 3-4 months. I am NEVER going back to Urbanna.

I stopped by the salon to get my eyebrows waxed. After slow receptionist service, a younger girl was able to fit me in. I gave her specific instructions of how I like my brows and she went and waxed the top half of each off. It looked awful, unprofessional and uneven. Someone could not pay me to go back

I loved the atmosphere of this spa, and the massage was amazing!

My fiancee and I had a 60 minute couples massage. Both massage therapists did an absolutely fabulous job! We will definitely come back. I was thrilled to find that the ladies' locker room had a steam room and sauna. I was a little nervous about the doorless opening to the ladies' locker room from the stairwell. Seems like it wouldn't be hard for male customers to get lost and walk right on in. The shower stall needs to be replaced, and the shower water was pretty cold.

My boyfriend and I went in for couple massages and had a relaxing, great experiance! I can't wait to go back and get another massage and use their other spa services. I highly recommend this Spa!

I am a spa fanatic. I can't think of a better way to spend an hour or two being pampered and relaxing. I discovered Urbanna through a groupon offer for a half price massage or facial. I chose the facial. As long as I was there and had the day off I added two other treatments - a pedicure and a hair color. The spa is situated in a historic building on Division. FREE PARKING - yeah! It's a wonderful eclectic mix of historic touches like open ductwork and brick walls combined with sleek black and wood furniture and fixtures. I was welcomed immediately and offered a beverage. I was early so I sat in the front lobby which had cushy chairs and a flat screen TV that was tuned to a nature show - but no sound so you could tune it out if needed. My pedicure was first. They have two large spa chairs in black leather a a nice massage feature that uses air rather than vibration and those really painful shiatsu massagers. I chose the lime-coconut scent and off we went. All the usual steps - clean nails, buffing, shaping and then a great scrub, then a paraffin dip followed by a wonderful leg and foot massage. Today was the first time I visited Urbanna Spa and Salon. I was impressed with the beauty of the building and decor. I had the 6th Sense Massage and it was by far the best massage I've ever had! I cannot believe how good I feel. It reminds me that we need to treat ourselves sometimes. I am thrilled to say that every person I encountered there was so nice and friendly. A lot of times spa's will make you feel rushed to get out so they can be onto the next person, but not at Urbanna. I was very relaxed and felt like I could really enjoy the experience. Also, as I was heading out I saw a couple girls who just had their hair and make-up done for a formal event, and they looked gorgeous. It looks like they have professionals that can attend to any kind of spa and salon related service. Next time, I want to try out the pedicures. Those chairs looked comfortable. If you are researching a good place in Spokane, you must try Urbanna! You wont be disappointed.

Overall my spa experience was great! I had a one hour massage. The atmosphere was very relaxing and the steam room after was wonderful! The only drawback was that the heat packs were just a little too hot at the beginning, and the contrast between the ice pack on my eyes and the heat pack around my neck was a bit uncomfortable. These things kept the experience from being as relaxing as I would have liked. I would definitely go back, though.

I love this place!! What a treat, a spa that feels so relaxing and comfortable without the pretense. Now that I have found Urbanna I've been back 4 times. They have such a variety of services it makes it easy to be Urbannaized.

I love this spa!! I love walking in the door. The atmosphere is relaxing and very inviting, and the staff, whether it is hair, skin or nails, always makes sure you leave feeling pampered, special and beautiful. I have been searching for a hair stylist I could count on for, oh, since Desiree left Studio 1924, 10+ years, and I have finally found him. I so love Nick! And Linda is AWESOME!! Helping me find the right skin products on the spot; using her knowledge and expertise, and pooling resources, if need be. My face looks great and is finally clear. Something I have desperately missed since my 7 month old was born. YOU ALL ROCK! I would recommend this spa to anyone, hands down.

This salon has a great atmosphere to it, but the staff and management is a whole different story. The owners care only for the hairdressers that work here, because they are the only ones who bring in the money. I overheard that myself. It was a big disappointment, because judging by the outside appearance, I was expecting more professionalism in the workplace. Even though I don't work here, it affected me, because now I'll never go back.

I have lived in Spokane since 2002 and have struggled to find a spa where I feel perfectly relaxed, nurtured, and content. But now I've found Urbanna, and I couldn't be happier! Urbanna's staff is outstanding and talented, and I always leave there feeling beautiful and confident. I have tried many of Urbanna's services over the last several months, including bikini waxing, eyebrow shaping, facials, eyelash tipping, a pedicure, and hair cuts/color. I generally find waxing to be an unpleasant experience, but my esthetician at Urbanna is so kind, gentle, and calm, that I was actually able to relax and enjoy myself. She also offers a "no-scream cream" that helps take the pain out of the experience. She is also a true artist when it comes to eyebrow shaping. My eyes really "pop" now! Facials there are about the most amazing thing I've ever experienced, and my skin glowed for days afterward. I was pleased when I learned my hairdresser now works there, and the highlights she gave me were absolutely amazing. I'm a natural blonde, and when she enhanced my natural color with highlights, I literally felt like my hair sparkled. I have been getting foils from her for years, and I can tell that the product line they use at Urbanna is far superior to others. (also, they have these crazy European shampoo bowls that are SO comfortable that I literally think I could take a nap there!) One part of Urbanna that I really love is that they use organic skin care products (Eminence) and a haircare line that emphasizes sustainable practices (Davines). I actually switched to Davines recently after having used a different salon brand for more than half of my life, and I am pleased to say that I absolutely LOVE Davines. I have tried their lines for both curly hair and blonde hair, and both make my hair look amazing. And I really love that these product lines care about the environment. The one thing I haven't tried yet is a massage, and I cannot wait to try it! I got my friend a pregnancy massage gift certificate when she was a few weeks from delivering, and she spoke highly of the experience. The whole spa has such a relaxing environment, from the comfortable seating to the beautiful artwork by a local artist to the lovely colors in the treatment rooms ... even though I haven't gotten a massage there yet, I always feel so relaxed when i leave that it's almost like i HAVE just gotten a massage. I just made an appointment at Urbanna as a birthday gift for myself, and I cannot WAIT to go there!

My colorist has recently relocated to Urbanna and I love it. The building is beautifully remodeled, yet, retains the historical integrity. I have tried the Eminence facial here and it was lovely as are the manicures.
