Beautiful Spa but Front Desk Attitude Could Use Improvement

The AvantGard Spa is beautifully decorated and wonderfully relaxing. The make-up artist who gave me a consultation session was extremely friendly and professional. She did an outstanding job and I loved my session with her. However, one of the young female staff members behind the front desk was not pleasant to talk to. She never smiled, and was curt in her responses. I interacted with her on two different days and she was equally unwelcoming both times. This was a disappointment as I really wanted to love this spa.

I have been going to Avant Gard Spa since 1996 and I have been seeing the same aesthetician since then. I think that says a lot about how they treat their staff. A happy staff = happy clients in my opinion. I have always experienced friendly and professional service. The spa is beautiful, has a wonderfully relaxing atmosphere and there is a wide range of services to choose from. When my friends and I take our annual "girl trip" we always try to do a spa day. I often find myself comparing the other spas with Avant Gard and wishing to be at my "home" spa. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a relaxing experience.

Services are terrific, the staff is skilled and professional yet warm and personal, they aim to accommodate you to the best of their ability, and on the RARE occasion something amiss happens, they take care to resolve your issue immediately so that you are satisfied. I have had a few manicures and pedicures here, but recently had a wonderful bath and massage and I am saying, I wish I could do this at least once a month! The ambiance is so soothing and beautiful. My masseuse Laetitia KIng was so excellent and kind that I hugged her before leaving! Really classy place.

I really enjoyed my massage at Avantgard in San Carlos. I wished I had scheduled a longer one, which I will do next time. Everyone was so cordial and professional. The massage was incredible. I felt so good when I left and have recommeded it to many of my friends. I went there because I was given a gift certificate and will definitely go again.
