Couples will appreciate the Asian-inspired, adults-only (16 and older) Inn with its jewel-toned decor, spacious suites ranging from 600 to nearly 1,000 square feet, and amenities such as fireplaces, in-room wine selection, and private decks overlooking the soothing Esopus Creek. Inn guests enjoy indoor access to the spa, restaurant, and Country Store. The resort is surrounded by tall peaks and the famed Esopus Creek. Within the Emerson, guests can enjoy shopping for unique and finely crafted gift items in the alluring shops of the Country Store. The Country Store is also home to the world's largest kaleidoscope as well as the Kaleidostore, which boasts a collection of hundreds of artistic and one-of-a-kind kaleidoscopes.
A short drive from the property, Catskill Forest Preserve has 300 miles of hiking and biking trails, in addition to world-class trout fishing. In winter, the popular Belleayre Mountain offers skiing, snowboarding, and snowshoeing options for the whole family, regardless of skill level.

Travel Information
- The Emerson is two hours by car from the George Washington Bridge and 75 minutes' drive from Westchester.
- Stewart Newburgh and Albany airports are each about an hour away. LaGuardia, JFK, and Newark are less than 2.5 hours away.
- The Emerson is located along the banks of the Esopus Creek, the birthplace of North American fly fishing. Beginning or experienced fishermen alike will find the creek a rewarding experience. Emerson chefs are pleased to prepare the day's catch for dinner - if you are fortunate to catch one of the elusive trout in the Esopus Creek!
- It is best to book all reservations for the spa as far in advance of arrival as possible. As the spa is very popular, it may not be possible to provide the requested services or appointment times desired if you wait until you check in.
- The nearby village of Woodstock is the home of the historic Byrdcliffe Arts Colony as well as other cultural opportunities. It is not, however, home to the site of the famed concert that bears its name. To truly "get back to the garden," you can travel approximately an hour to the town of Bethel, where the new Bethel Woods Performing Arts Center now welcomes nationally known talent.
