Sundara's motto is 'Energize Your Soul' and that philosophy is most evident in its 14-treatment room spa. The decor is soothing and serene, with a sense of minimalism and Asian influence. Before and after treatments, guests can often be found in the glass-walled relaxation lounge. Spa-goers also enjoy the Spa Together rooms, which are both specially designed for two. The first has a fireplace and overflowing soak baths with chromatherapy lights, while the second has a 10-jet body spa. The spa's lobby boutique is filled with spa apparel and accessories, jewelry, books, and candles.

Every stay at Sundara begins with a Purifying Bath Ritual that cleanses both body and soul. Guests can then choose from a variety of treatments that blend Ayurvedic wisdom with modern wellness techniques. The Sundara Sandstone Polish Body Treatment, part of the spa's signature 'Sundara Series,' begins with an invigorating massage using a body polish incorporating native Cambrian sandstone. The treatment concludes with a body scrub, Vichy shower treatment, nourishing mist, and hydrating body lotion application leaving the skin renewed, healthy, and glowing. Sundara also has a full array of massage, body, and facial treatments as well as a full-service salon that offers guests manicures, pedicures, hair care, and make-up. A fully equipped workout room is available for use at the convenience of day and overnight guests.

    Rooms & Dining

Sundara has 26 extremely large suites, with each of the six different room layouts taking their names from Sanskrit. For example, Shaanta means 'the sentiment of happiness, peace and pleasure,' while Prajna means 'the experience of deep sleep where there is only pure bliss.' The Amoda suite sleeps five people on three levels. The suites vary in size and layout, but each has an in-room spa bathroom, king-size featherbed, fireplace, and exceptional artwork. Some suites also have private screened-in balconies and sunken sitting rooms. The turn-down service is a treat for the senses, with soft music, lighting, fluffy slippers, and a robe. The property also has 12 private villas for rent and ownership.

Spa cuisine is available all day, and guests may dine at the poolside Infinity Edge Cabana, on the Radiance Rotunda balcony, or in their rooms. The spa also offers a complimentary breakfast buffet with fresh fruits, Sundara's signature granola, egg frittatas, hot chicken and beef entrees, fresh baked goods, and hot and cold beverages. Lunch and dinner, as well as snacks and smoothies, are prepared with seasonal ingredients and local produce.

    Activities
Sundara's 26 acres of private land provide the perfect backdrop for hiking, picnicking, cross-country skiing, or snow trekking. The heated outdoor infinity-edge pool lets guests swim year-round while enjoying views of towering pine trees and rust-colored Cambrian sandstone. A fitness studio is available daily for guest use. One-on-one private Hatha Yoga classes in a guest's room or poolside can be arranged.

The area surrounding Sundara offers many recreational activities and a concierge is available to arrange outings in Wisconsin Dells. Guests can enjoy scenic boat tours, take a stroll through the nearby Wollersheim Winery, visit local museums, or attend live shows. Wilderness Woods Golf Club, a championship 18-hole course, is adjacent to Sundara and complimentary Lincoln Town Car service takes guests directly to the clubhouse. Golfers may also want to try the many golf courses located throughout Wisconsin Dells. Shoppers will enjoy the many boutiques in the Dells River District, and stroll the newly constructed Riverwalk, which gives pedestrians views of the Wisconsin River not seen in 75 years.

Overpriced treatments - normally at the prices they charge you have gratuities already included. They have a birthday club which is suppose to give you a $25 credit toward anything but retail purchases. Well I went in and had mentioned it when I booked my spa service. When I arrived I was told that it only was valid if I stayed overnight. I double checked the website and no mention of an overnight stay. I'm local so I don't need a room - I guess they're not interested in having anyone local come in for the day. Not worth the money.

Surprising to find such a fantastic getaway in the Wisconsin Dells. This spa is tranquil & relaxing. It has everything you could possibly want from a spa & then some. The outdoor pool area is pleasant & enjoyable all year long, even when its snowing. The hotel accommodations are beautiful & the spa treatments are amazing.

Nice Spa and Hotel -The hotel room was not quite as luxe as I expected. The carpet was worn and the sink faucet in the lovely bathroom leaked annoyingly.Spa services were terrific. One of the best facials as I've ever had. The meals were very good but the dining area, while fine if you want to read a book during dinner (which I did) was not very engaging.Overall, though, I'd definitely visit again. Staff was very accomodating and professional

My husband and I went to Sundara expecting first class treatment and services. The facility was very small and way overbooked. We were unaware that the spa bused people in from the waterparks. With very limited seating at the pool, and all the waterpark and local guests, we could not sit together. In addition, the meditation room at the spa was the throughway to get from the changing room to the pool and was very busy, as well. The locker room was too small to accommodate all the people. My massage was so rough that I bruised and when I told the massage therapist that it hurt, the response was that it had to hurt to be good. I asked to change my next service to something more soothing and I was told that I could not because that would that the commission away from the therapist I was booked with. They also ran out of towels and water glasses at the pool several times during our stay. Not worth the $900 the night cost us!!!

My husband and I stayed here for our anniversary, overall it is a nice stay.We got a great deal on a villa, and it was beautiful. The staff was friendly and helpful. We did each get a massage, and while it was relaxing, I thought it was a bit overpriced. It wasn't as good as massages I've had elsewhere for half the price and the masseuse was a bit chatty, which kills a good massage for me. I guess I'm too polite to tell them that directly, but try to give hints or pretend to fall asleep. That didn't work.Overall you're paying for the environment more than the quality of the service in my opinion. But sometimes that's OK, and it is a beautiful place.

stayed one night as a self-treat. Services (massage and facial) were great experiences. Room was large and lovely; jet tub was a welcome after evening deep tissue massage. Pool area also great, but overall facility layout a little inconvenient - going from sleeping room to treatment forced me to trapse through giftshop/checkin area in my robe as elevator lets you out right at checkin desk (which doubles as giftshop cashier) Also, if you're on the 2nd floor you have to trapse through the breakfast diners on the way to elevator. Food was most disapointing - no restaurant - I didn't feel this was close to the definition of 'spa cuisine'. I travel a lot for business, and main menu seemed no different from average hotel; breakfast was the same breakfast I have Hampton Inns all over the country, with average scrambled eggs, make your own toast, and pre-packaged juice and yogurt. I would not stay overnight again, but would go as a day experience with girlfriends.

The bath ritual was great, the outdoor facilities were wonderful, and the meditation room was very soothing! My facial was fantastic and I would definitely go back again! You can have drinks by the pool and you can stay as long as you want. I overheard one of the attendants say springtime was the busiest for them so I recommend waiting a while if you were planning a trip. I went a week ago and I was very happy. The dead of winter is probably the best time to be there since it wouldn't be as busy. Plus, steam rooms, warm pools, and hot tubs are best enjoyed in frigid cold air!

Very nice atmosphere, enjoyed the bath ritual and herbal wrap service. We then ordered drinks and drank them outside in the whirlpool. I am a local to the Dells area and I very much liked being in a whirlpool in 20 degree weather in Wisconsin. Prices are high but it's worth the splurge.

This is the second time I have been to Sundara. Wow it was just as good if not better the second time around. This time I stayed in a villa suite. Excellent, just excellent. I will be returning again next year. Can't get enough of this place.

I just joined SpaFinder so I'm writing this review 5 years after visiting it. I still remember my stay there with my husband quite fondly. My massage was great. The food was great. The whirlpool and showers with the mud were great. The infinity pool was a plus. We also enjoyed our hike in the woods just in back of the building. The only minuses were no restaurant or dining room on site. Although we really enjoyed the Cheese Factory (vegetarian) down the street. Wonderful food there. The only other minus was how crowded the relaxation room would get at times.
