Back Bending-The Counter-Pose for Life

For many of us, life is pulling us forward to the next moment. Even waking in the morning can feel like a race to get the engine started to begin moving forward towards the future. The body responds to this pull forward over a long period of time and begins to collapse in, weakening the abdominal muscles and adding additional stress on the shoulders, neck and back. The way to restore the forward moving mind is meditating on the present moment. The way to heal the forward moving body is by lengthening the front of the body through back bending! This extended practice will warm the body to approach  backbends and effectively open the front of the body without causing strain or compression on the back of the body. As the chest opens, breath after breath, a confidence emerges, along with tenderness in being in the present moment. Cost: $25-Please register online t
