Vinyasa/Deep Stretch
This is a great blend of vinyasa flow and standing poses followed by longer held floor poses. Each class is different as we address the needs of those in attendance. The body is warmed by the movement created linking one pose to another either by performing sun salutations or a series of standing poses. The joints are lubricated as the body is taken through flexion, extension, lateral stretches and back bends.A good deep stretch is facilitated through a combination of movement and more stationary poses. We are never static, always mindful of the flow of breath and the release of tension in the the body. Yoga is best in the morning, beginning the day calm, mindful and at ease ready to enjoy family, friends and the adventures of life. |

Restorative (All levels)
What is Restorative Yoga? Restorative Yoga is a therapeutic style of yoga. Blankets, bolsters, straps, and other props safely support the body in various postures allowing the body to move towards a state of balance. This practice soothes the nervous system, helping to quiet the mind and inviting the release of deeply held tension. Why should I practice Restorative Yoga?In a chronically stressed state, quality of life and perhaps life itself is at risk. The body's capacity to heal itself can be compromised, inhibiting recovery from injury or illness, or it may create new illness or injury, including high blood pressure, ulcers, back pain, immune dysfunction and depression. The antidote to stress is relaxation. Restorative yoga focuses on relaxation, renewal, effortlessness and ease. |
