Originally developed in the early 20th century by Joseph Pilates as a rehabilitation method, the popularity of this core-strengthening and spine-aligning workout has since spread around the world like wildfire. The practice, often called the Pilates method, is meant to improve mental and physical wellbeing, increase flexibility, and strengthen muscles through a series of controlled movements and breathing that engage both the body and mind. BOOTCAMP
This is a high calorie burning and performance enhancing class. Intervals and muscle confusion are the key components to losing weight and making tremendous strength and cardiovascular gains. This class will have longer work intervals and short active rest intervals that will train the body to fight off fatigue and have the ability to workout with more intensity longer. With the use of body weight exercises, kettle bells, dumbbells, and bands no two classes will ever be the same. The instructor will show you modifications so whether you are an athlete or a beginner you will get the most from every class.The class is one hour and starts with a dynamic warm up mimicking the movements to be used later, and also the core. Then there will be 6-8 “super set” circuits that will move you from one body part to the next without rest. TRX promotes “balanced” strength from front to back and side to side training each joint to function properly. This class will burn maximum calories, build strength, give you greater joint range of motion, correct your posture, and make inches disappear! In the beginning of the class we will warm up with everyone lead by the instructor. The class will then have a rotation on stations. Each station will use different equipment such as kettle bells, dumbbells, body weight, bands, and TRX. You will be at each station 3-5 minutes. Everyone will get a chance to work with the TRX and have constant feedback from the instructor for proper form on the TRX. Modifications will be demonstrated to accommodate all fitness levels.
