Although every part of the body is used, the abs and core will especially be worked. No dance experience is necessary; wear comfortable clothing and prepare to dance in socks or bare feet. Belly Dance Jam

Come get your sweat on dancing to exotic and fun music! Belly Dance Jam is an upbeat, movement-oriented class designed to keep your heart rate up and keep you dancing! We will use the basic steps and movements of Middle Eastern Dance, or belly dance, to get a workout while having fun and feeling beautiful and strong. Class includes warm-up, aerobic section, and cool-down. Be ready to work your core especially! Please be prepared to dance in socks or bare feet. The main focus of this class is a fun workout, not the details of technique; see the studio's other belly dance classes for more detailed instruction-style classes. Hip scarves will be available for sale before or after class!

Walk/Run - Marathon; 5k Training

The health benefits of walking are well-documented. As the number of individuals who run competitively has peaked, the number of walkers has steadily risen. A major reason for this increase is the awareness that walking is easier on the skeletal joints than is running. Yet the cardiovascular benefits of walking can equal those of running. In addition, the mental and emotional benefits of walking such as the reduction of stress and the mental "high" are ever present. Every Month will be a different spot June's and July's place to be will be Duke Wall. We will meet across from the Whole Foods on Broad Street at Duke Wall. Those who would prefer to run can build up to a run.
