As its name suggests, Lifestyle Center of America specializes in the treatment of Type 2 diabetes through lifestyle alteration. Type 2 diabetes is most often brought on by unhealthy lifestyle patterns and can lead to other health risks such as hypertension, high cholesterol, and coronary artery disease.
To address the root cause of diabetes and the complications surrounding it, the Center's distinctive Stopping Diabetes Program includes customized combinations of lectures, cooking classes, fitness classes, behavioral health workshops, individual counseling, nature walks, laboratory medical testing, doctor-patient consultations, therapeutic massage services, and other healing activities.
Lifestyle Center of America's Stopping Diabetes Program meets the national diabetes-education standards of the American Diabetes Association. The Center's individualized exercise prescriptions include sessions with a personal trainer and are designed to help patients lose weight and normalize blood sugar levels. Patients are each assigned a personal physician who works closely with them during their stay. A nutritionist provides education and support to patients as they form healthier eating habits to last beyond their time at the Center.
