About Krama Yoga Center

Krama Yoga Center is a different kind of yoga studio. You can feel it when you walk through the doors. You realize it after you take a class. We are confident a consistent practice with us will give you the tools necessary to live a happy, healthy and inspired life.
The mission of Krama Yoga Center is to provide an authentic healing and transformational yoga experience for North Dallas practitioners and beyond.
Our intention is not to simply bring you a healthier body and peace of mind. These are byproducts of the yoga practice. The aim of yoga is about experiencing oneness, cultivating a mind capable of concentration and a heart free of judgment. The gifts of this mystical journey happen to include a radiant body and a joyful existence.
Classes are led by certified instructors and are generally flow-based (Vinyasa). Temperature for classes is generally 75 - 85 degrees Fahrenheit and sometimes we use varied hip/relaxing music. When weather permits, we may practice with open doors for fresh air. We have a lot of space, forgiving floors, a nice sound system and soft adjustable lighting.
There is more to doing yoga than making an asana (yoga postures) of oneself, so we also offer ongoing education about the philosophy of yoga, breathing exercises (pranayama), meditation and more!
The benefits of yoga are accessible to anyone regardless of fitness level, age, experience or background.

Sweaty Hip Opening Lotus Vinyasa Flow
Poor circulation in the hips can cause tightness. Tight hips can lead to pain and disease. Open the hips with Ricky Tran in this challenging sequence designed to systematically open the hips for improved circulation and range of movement. There will be opportunities to play explore challenging twists, bends, folds, balances and inversions. The goal of the class is to prepare for lotus posture or padmasana. Many students learn lotus pose without pain for the first time in the Lotus Vinyasa classes with Ricky.The class will start with a short talk about the anatomy of the hips/knees and quickly move into a sweaty practice with an extended savasana/relaxation. Beginner Vinyasa is the class to introduce you to this flow method of yoga. The first 15 minutes of class be discussion on basics and foundations or open question and answer, followed by a mindful flow of simple movements and postures. Follow the Yogi - Guided Ashtanga
The yoga teacher practices with students as breath and movement cues are called out. This guided physical practice that will build an internal heat and purifying sweat for most people. The emphasis on this practice is stamina and strength, flexibility and concentration are the results. Modifications are offered for every body. Quit at any time. Build stamina over time. It's suggested that you practice Ashtanga 6 days a week. Vinyasa experience not necessary but extremely beneficial. Guided Ashtanga classes are for fit beginners and beyond. Sweaty Arm Balance Workshop
There are 8.4 million poses in yoga, but there are only a few classes of postures. Postures are either standing, standing on one leg, seated, prone, supine, inverted, balancing on the arms/hands, or a combination. Arm/Hand Balances can strengthen the muscles, bones and joints of the hands, arms chest, shoulders, back, abdominals, as well as increase blood flow through these parts. An added benefit of learning these beautiful balancing postures is a nice boost in self-confidence and self-acceptance. The mind also becomes one-pointed and happy when yogic flight is achieved. Explore the foundations of arm balances through a variety of exercises to build strength and structure for poses like crow/crane, arm pressure, firefly, feathered peacock, handstand and more!
