Pole Transition Level 3

Pole Transition Level 3/Intermediate focuses on refining shape the standing poses and learning basic upside down tricks, simple back bending poses on the pole, and the pole hand stand using the Anusara Yoga principles of alignment. It is recommended that students complete both Pole 1 and Pole 2 before taking Pole 3. Students will learn new tricks and transitions each week for the first four weeks off class. During the 5th week, of class students will be taught a wonderful pole routine that incorporates all or most of what they have learned provided by the certified pole fitness instructor. Students have the entire 5th week to practice and work on routine. All students that started in the 1st week must participate in the graduation ceremony for the final week in order to be promoted to the next level pole class. Students will be required to perform the routine taught by the instructor during their 6th week. Students are encouraged to wear costumes, use props, and perform to the

Lyra Hoop 101

Lyra, also known as circus hoop, is a circus apparatus in which the student learns beautiful maneuvers and shapes while spinning on a large metal hoop suspended in the air. Beginners start off learning the basics of spinning and the basic ways to get up and down onto the hoop. Once comfortable with this, they will progress on to harder and more advanced moves and combinations.

This conditioning class covers over 15 exercises for a full body conditioning workout using the pole. Some examples of what’s included are pull ups on the pole to help you with inversions, abdominal exercises for moves like shoulder mounting, and modified push ups to help counteract the stress of handsprings on the body. Exercises are modified for all skill levels, so even beginners can do them. We will show you how to do each exercise, plus give you an example of how these exercises can help you in different areas of your pole work.
