I always have a great experince at the pointe! The girls are so friendly and make you feel at home. I love being able to wind down with a Mimosa. When I have time, the steam room is a great treat as well. The massages are the best! Another great thing they do is give discounts for booking more appointments!

I was given a mothers day gift for this spa that included a massage, facial and pedicure. I wouldn't say I'm an expert but I have had quite a few of each one. The massage was so-so. It's true it was hard to relax when you could hear people talking in the hall outside of the room. The facial was in a different area that was much quieter and it was WONDERFUL! The pedicure was pretty good too, but not worth the extra money. A cheaper nail salon would done the same stuff. I have also had my eye brows waxed at this location and was pleased with that. I would highly recommend the waxing and facials. But not anything else.

I've been very fortunate to have received several "spa packages" as gifts from my Fiance for birthdays and Christmas so I've had the pleasure of being able to choose from wraps, massages, facials, manicures or pedicures and I've had several of each type of service. I have NEVER had a bad experience and have always shown up in advance of my appointment to make sure I would have time to relax, get into a robe and slippers and de-stress prior to my appointment. The only service that I have not gotten into a robe for is the pedicure. Each time I've gone I leave thinking that the person who provided the service was the best ever. All of them have always been very courteous, polite and quiet. Nice when you are trying to relax. I also really look forward to the Moonstruck chocolate when I leave, silly as that sounds but it is a really nice touch.
I wish I could pick my favorite treatment but I cannot. They are all fabulous and make me feel spoiled and pampered. Try them!

Good service, not the right atrmosphereBy TracyR | November 13, 2009

I've had accupuncture and massage at The Pointe. Service has always been fine, but it is hard to relax in the massage rooms because they are between the locker rooms and hallway. If you go during slow times it's fine. Don't try to get a massage on a Saturday morning though. All you will hear is kids yelling and running down the hall to the childcare room or the family changing areas.

This is a very honest description of my second experience with the same spa therefore, I think I need to write the review before other people waste their time and money coming to this spa. I arrived at the spa 10 minutes early. This appointment was for 25 min. Shiatsu. On my turn, I was whisked into a corridor towards a massage room. On the way I was told, we have only 20min left because I'm 5min late. I said that I waited in the line for 10min. I let that go. But it was very strange to me that I was not offered a robe or a locker etc. Rather the clock seemed to be ticking. In the massage room, the person stepped out and told me to lie on the massage table. The room was fine and the table was warm. I was dressed appropriately for Shiatsu, so I thought okay maybe they don't offer any robe for this massage, so I lied head down on the table. The therapist entered and rolled her eyes and said," okay, for me to massage you, you need to take your clothes off". I said, "yes, I know but I don't see any robe or loose clothing given to me. And I"m here for Shiatsu and I'm dressed appropriate for that but I could undress for the massage if thats the way you do Shiatsu." As she was talking, she was giving me minutely account of time and now we had only 15min left (remember, we started from 20min). She replied that I was not scheduled for Shiatsu, I was scheduled for just a massage. Now we have only 10min left. If you want I could do a light Shiatsu (Pl understand there is NO such thing as light Shiatsu; there is Shiatsu or no Shiatsu. When people say light Shiatsu it usually means they don't know this massage technique). Now there were only 5min left so there was no point. I had to leave.
Like I said above, this is a very accurate account of what happened today. I have nothing against them or anybody else. I wasted a Saturday afternoon going for massage, hired a baby sitter and came back more in pain. I use massage atleast every week for migraine and pain management. So, I have used quite a few spas in the area. Pointe Spa is the only one so far (actually both the locations) where I have the bad experience both when it came to manners, politeness and what not. Nobody even felt they had done something wrong, rather they had smirks on their faces as I left. Nobody even apologised or tried scheduling another appointment.
I do not recommend this spa to anyone, atleast not the Howthorne location. At the Bethany location, if you can tolerate the rudeness of the receptionists at the spa counter, you might be okay. But I don't think customers should be treated like scum at these places where the whole purpose of visit is to have fun or relieve stress.
The only reason I tried a SpaFinder Spa was because I was given a $450 gift certificate that has been now converted to Pointe Spa certificate. Nobody bothered to tell me that would happen. Regardless, I"m not going back.
