Nice Massage, Nice Facilities
We enjoyed our massage. The facilities were nice, but a bit run-down in a few places (e.g. tea lounge). All and all, a good experience and I will go back.

Spa Splurge
My ex bf purchased a spa package for me as a birthday gift years ago. It was the beginning of my foray into the spa world. I was impressed by the large locker room and the many amenities that were offered. I remember kindly being escorted from service to service. First up was my massage, then a facial. The techs were friendly and informative. The lunch was made up of fresh fruits and offered up a picturesque view of down below. Afterward, I was escorted to get my nails done. I have to say, my favorites were the massage and facial. It was nice and quiet in those areas, whereas the salon felt like any other loud salon. They had a refreshment station that included nuts and limewater. Compared to the other spas in NYC, the Peninsula offers up decent value in its spa packages. Try it out for yourself. It's easy to get to, clean, and the techs are friendly.

A lovely oasis in midtown!
Yes it's a bit of old world New York at the Peninsula and that's not a bad thing....the attention to detail at the spa is incredible. I arrived there early on a cold NY day and was so happy to see that they had a steam room and a sauna room! They may be small but if you go later in the day it tends to be less crowded. My therapist David was incredible - yes I had a deep tissue massage and it was intense but the next few days I felt amazing! The small attention to detail was what impressed me the most....this is certainly a first class spa on Fifth Avenue!

The 239 guest rooms and suites, reminiscent of the hotel’s worldly sophistication, are styled in muted hues and dark wood furnishings that offset stark linens. Three- or four-fixture marble bathrooms, king-size beds, and large executive desks create a comfortable respite, complemented by modern touches that include flat-screen TVs and Internet access. Select accommodations deliver an even greater sense of opulence, appointed with amenities like chandeliers, deep soaking tubs, and a grand piano.

Under the direction of Chef de Cuisine Brandon Kida, Clement restaurant serves contemporary American fare with a focus on the Northeast region, and its intimate bar area features a smaller menu of its own, an extensive wine list, and expansive windows. Interiors of Gotham Lounge, where afternoon tea and evening cocktails are served, provide an atmosphere of quietude, while the rooftop Salon de Ning, a 1930s Shanghai-inspired lounge, entices a livelier crowd; the bar’s alluring design invites revelers to gaze at dramatic Fifth Avenue views, ornate woodwork, and artwork while relishing signature cocktails.
