Ayurvedic Yoga
Ayurvedic yoga is an all encompassing practice which is equally applicable for beginners and seasoned practitioners of yoga. The class will be Asana based with infusion of Ayurvedic philsophy and wisdom in the practice. Yoga and Ayurveda are two closely related spiritual or sacred sciences rooted in the Vedic tradition of India for over 5,000 years. Ayurveda views the physical body along with everything in the Universe as being composed of the five primary elements: earth, water, fire, air and ether. The elements are expressed in the physical body as qualities of stability and support (earth), feeling and fluidity (water), heat and metabolism (fire), respiration and circulation (air), space and lightness (ether). The proportions of these elements within and around us have profound influences on how we experience our physical, psychological, and spiritual levels. In the practice of Yoga, the five elements are experienced and invoke through certain movements in the body and mind. Ay |
