Iyengar & Purna Inspired 2

Purna is a school of yoga founded by Aadil Palkhivala, blending alignment-oriented asana practice with a heart-centered spiritual one. Aadil studied with the grand maestro Iyengar for years and has made his own innovations in the discipline in order to adapt the classical yogic practices to a modern world, making these practices particularly more accessible for Westerners. The idea is allowing students to realize the benefits of the study of yoga more easily and in ways relevant to their personal lives and beliefs. This I'm blending with what I know of Iyengar, as I've been returning to the roots of this lineage, utilizing all the techniques I find useful to inform practice. People tell me it is physically challenging and that they appreciate knowing the fine points of focus. In short, the asana practice I teach at Yoga Shala is slow, focused and methodical. I give a lot of instruction on alignment and actions in each pose, instead of flowing through many poses in quick suc
