Ear candling or coning is a simple, pain free, effective method for removing excess wax, fungus and in some cases parasites that may cause impaction in the ear canal. With you lying on your side a special conical candle is inserted gently into the external auditory meatus and lit. The combination of heat and design forms a vortex that draws the now softened deposits up into the cone. You may hear a crackling sound as this happens.
