I finally got to try this spa recently after recieveing a coupon for the european facial. The facial was fine,nothing more nothing less. I enjoyed my therapist who was very generous with information on skincare. My face didn't have that glow afterwards that I get from some spas I've been to after a facial,but it was sufficient. I was happy to finally come here and try the spa out and now that I know where the facility is I will come back to try out other body treatments and nail services before I write this spa off. The facility is nicely designed and feels very calm and sanitary inside,in a soothing,european way. Highly recommend this spa!

I went to Sothys for the first time and had a great experience. I tried the vanilla/carmel facial. It was amazing. The masseuse was very professional & accomodating, the service was great and the staff was very friendly & helpful. I would definitely go back.

Sothys is modelled on a European, actually, French skin care treatment. Meaning it is not New Age with Indian music and burning sage incense. It is all a matter of taste. My masseuse really knew what she was doing and was careful to tailor the massage to my needs. Everyone was quite friendly - not snooty the way staff can be in some European style places.
The packages are good values and are definitely the way to go.

I recently moved to NYC from Chicago. A friend recommended the Sothys spa. My experience could not have been better. I had their signnature body massage and facial. Probably the best treatments I have ever had. The technicians were top notch and the customer service could not have been better. I plan to make Sothys spa my " go to '' place!!

I had a spafinder massage deal at this Spa a week ago and it was really amazing. The staff are very accommodating and despite the rainy weather that day, the spa was amazingly clean and very upscale. The massage is a full 50 minutes one according to the deal and she was very flexible with the pressure you would like to experience with the massage. They are not pushy at all for any products, which is a plus too.

The deal is good, but that's what you get.
The lady spent 15 minutes on my face in total, rubbed on some hot mask and left.
Worst and worthless facial I ever have, despite the beautiful environment.
If you just want to go to a spa on Fifth avenue to have tea, this is for you. You want good facial service, find another one.

I booked a massage three weeks in advance. The day before my appointment they called to tell me that there was a scheduling probllem and did not have a therapist available for my massage but they could do a facial. Now putting aside the bad scheduling, why would any spa assume that a facial would substitute for a massage.

Great facial but only lasted like 45 min while the description said 60 min facial. I think the lady was frustrated with all the blackheads I had and quit halfway because the exfoliation was not very thorough.

I went to Sothy's on a recent trip to NYC. I recieved the special 2 hours for $170. I am an Esthetician and Massage Therapist and I must say, the treatments I had at Sothy's were some of the worst treatments I have ever experienced. The massage was in a freezing cold room, and very bright. Not relaxing at all. The therapist did not introduce herself and when I asked her to slow her pace and use more pressure she said "I'm getting to it"!! The whole service left me tense and unsatisified. The esthetician who performed my facial was a little unexperienced and it was an average facial to say the least. When I checked out and was asked how my services were, I explained to the receptionist how unhappy I was and all she said was "I'm sorry". She offered me 20% my NEXT visit and I still paid full price of the horrible treatments I had that day. I will not be returning to the spa.

I travel a lot for business and have had the opportunity to visit many day spas throughout the US, and I can honestly say that Sothys is one of the best. From the moment I walked in until the moment I walked out I was pampered and respected. I have had the misfortune to go to day spas on a Saturday and was made to feel like a 'number in a cattle call', even though Sothys was busy (on a Saturday), I was treated as an individual and my expectations were meet. It was a good day.....my girl friends and I do 'Christmas in July' and I will certainly suggest that all 15 of us consider a spa day at Sothys as a group gift.....

I came here with my Aunt and we had a very intimate and bonding experience. We had tea on gold plated china. I had a facial by the famous Ingrid. I loved how warm and cozy I was with special gloves on for the hand treatment. The staff was so gracious and I felt so comfortable there despite the East 57th address.
