    Cal-a-Vie Health Spa's fitness program is a comprehensive regime designed to help you achieve your personal fitness goals: stress reduction, relaxation, weight control, toning. Most guests stay seven days, but three- and four-day "La Petite" programs are available. Your exercise program begins with a personal fitness assessment. This evaluation is used to develop a sensible, integrated, balanced program of exercise and nutrition-one that will fit into your lifestyle to produce lasting results. Exercise begins each morning with a brisk walk along trails that ribbon through Cal-a-Vie's tranquil hillsides.

    Fitness opportunities include aerobic conditioning, body contouring classes, water sports, and personalized workouts in the gym. Tennis courts are on the premises and golf may be enjoyed at an adjacent private country club.

    The Pavilion offers 5 fitness studios, a fully equipped weight room, 2,500 square feet space for formal meetings, and additional space for team building events.

    I very much enjoyed my visit to Cal-a-Vie and will probably go there again. The spa treatments, fitness classes, and the spa cuisine were all terrific. The décor and scenery were beautiful and relaxing at the same time. Everyone that worked there was very pleasant and accommodating.It was very convenient that they provide T-shirts, sweatpants, shorts, robes, etc, and housekeeping restocked the rooms several times each day. Extra clothing was also plentiful in the fitness center and spa. Many guests wear their spa-provided clothing to all 3 meals, so you really don't need to bring much with you at all.While the fitness classes were plentiful, I would have preferred there to be more in the ways of nutrition or healthy lifestyle talks/discussion, as there was only a very brief talk by the dietitian during breakfast one morning (less than 10 minutes) and some healthy food tips from the chef during the cooking demonstration. Anything more required a private consultation with the dietitian for an additional fee. This would have been a good use for the evenings, when there were little or no planned activities (a slight disappointment).One thing to consider when visiting Cal-a-Vie is that it is small, there are sometimes under 20 guests, and you are seated at tables of 6 for indoor meals (generally breakfast and dinner) or 4 for outdoor meals (generally lunch); seats are not pre-assigned. This can be good or bad, depending on who the other guests are. If you travel there alone (which most people seem to) and there is a good group, it's a great way to meet others, make friends, and have interesting conversations. If you are not comfortable with some of the other guest, it can be awkward at mealtime.

    I go to Cal A Vie yearly now. It is something I look forward to all year. I have met wonderful people there and have learned to change my lifestyle. The morning workouts are tough but wonderful. It makes the afternoon pampering all the;more better. The food is so creative and filling that I don't even realize that I'm consuming only 1200 calories. The grounds feel like something out of the south of France. It is a must do!
