  The 1,000-square-meter Lapinha Spa is filled with 15 treatment rooms and four massage areas; at the center of the spa is an indoor Kneipp immersion pool. Meditation bungalows are set within attractive garden settings, where guests can continue the relaxed vibe.

  Lapinha initiates a seven-pillar philosophy to round out its spa experience: healthy, organic food; hydrotherapy; physical therapy; phytotherapy; movement therapy; biorhythm therapy; and spirituality. More than 50 beauty and esthetic treatments are showcased on the spa’s menu and include fango mud wraps, naturopathy, detoxification, Vichy showers, watsu and thalassotherapy. Massage modalities comprise reflexology, aromatherapy, hot stone and Thai, among others.

Cocooned by an Araucaria forest, Lapinha Spa is located on a 550-acre organic farm in the rural town of Lapa in the state of Paraná, Brazil. With a focus on sustainable conscious efforts, the medical spa destination, which opened in 1972, provides a total mind, body and soul experience, fused with a harmonious balance of nature and its abundant resources. Physical and spiritual programming varies for each visitor to create a personalized stay, complemented by beautiful meditation gardens and bungalows designed to promote deep relaxation. Guests dine on organic and egg-lacto-vegetarian cuisine, and more than half of the ingredients are harvested from the on-site pesticide-free garden just a few hours before meals.

All rooms at Lapinha, which showcases a Swiss-style design aesthetic, have been created to immerse guests in the area’s verdant Mata de Araucária wooded landscape and utilize its natural resources. Sustainable principles—like potable water and the heating of rooms, floors and showers via a boiler that is fueled using raw materials sourced and replanted on the property’s farm—helped the destination spa receive its Carbon Zero certification.

Healthful yet flavorful gourmet meals are based upon organic and egg-lacto-vegetarian fare to maximize guests’ energy, aid in detoxification and optimize wellbeing. Under the watchful eye of the spa’s nutritionists, portion-controlled dishes emphasize vitamins, fiber and minerals and vary from 420 to 2,000 calories per day, depending on each individual guest’s programming.
