went to Maximus to get a spa Manicure -pedicure. What a rip off, at $40 each; $80 total before tip. I was expecting a bliss-full reflexology inspired massage and high end polish. Instead there were limited colors, the nail tech convinced me to keep my color when I said it didn't work on the first nail, and she had me do my own body scrub for my hands at the sink. There was no massage. Then for the pedi.... I did get lathered with a nice minty mask, but that was where the similarities with any other spa pedi I've gotten ended, My tech left me with the mask on for so long, it started to burn, she went to get a 20 min. massage for her sciatica!!! I had NO foot rub, and a poor polish job which looks crummy today, One day later. I complained at the desk and was offer a %20 reduction of my bill... which didn't even downgrade me to the cost of a regular $60 mani pedicure package. I wish I had taken my money to my local Asian nail spa where to $80 I spent, including tip would have gotten me much much more, higher quality and a better experience. I will never return, even if I had a gift card, I recommend you don't go either. LAME, overpriced, trying to be city spa.

I cant tell you the difference my hair looks and feels since I have been going to maximum since aug. I had walked in with dead processed hair and walked out with bouncey beautiful healthy hair. Their staff at maximum is knowlegable and friendly. I love how the entire staff accomodates all that walk through the maximus door . Whether it be the coat check girl or the main service station, everyone welcomes you with a smile. I have been to many salons and spas over the years and cant tell you nothing is like maximus. I have been having my hair colored at Maximus for the past 12 yrs. They do fulfill my requests and I always get compliments about my hair color.Their color department is filled with young talented people.Their front desk employee's are always courteous and polite and greets you with a smile. I will always return to Maximus!!!

i have been a dedicated and loyal client of maximus for over 20 years. once in a great while i'll stray and want a new experience, and every time i do i am always disappointed and run back to maximus. they are without a doubt the most professional, knowledable, educated salon on long island. the new salon is absolutely beautiful, very hip! i am constantly being stopped and asked "where do you get your haircut"? i get tons of compliments, and am always proud to say "at maximus". and you get a great massage & facial too. love it!!!

Staff is rude. They act as if they are doing you a favor by looking at you and serving you. My color was to stay on for 30 mins close to an hour later, while my colorist ate and smoked cigarettes, I asked when I would be washed. They responded it needed to stay on 30 mins. I said it was almost an hour and they disagreed, as if I had no brain in my head! In addition, I asked for the INOA hair color and told it takes too long and its too expensive???? I left that night with magenta hair and returned to have it corrected. It was the dead of winter after a snow storm and there was no heat on??? Take care Maximus and soon you will have fooled everyone for long enough. And then no one will come back....shape up!! Not to mention, the staff spends most of their time talking about one another!!! Do you think we really care about your problems???

Upon arriving to this location I thought my friends and I would be in for such a relaxtion treat. We thought wrong!!!
The second we started our sessions it got worse by the minute. My facial was horrendous! It was the worst facial I have ever received. My esthetician took 10 mins just to remove my make up, she barely massaged me, her techinique was no good. She put a mask on me and it dripped everywhere even into my hair and eyes, what a mess!! To make matters worse she did not apply any moisturizer and I was so upset I ended up just shaking my head and walking out.
Then to the next torture... the spa manicure and Pedicure. I have been to so many spas and nail salons and this is by far the lowest standard. My nails were cut uneven, they were not profesionally trained technicians. The paint job was blotchy and bumpy. There was no "spa" part of this nail treatment. There was no massage and the scrub was not washed off so my legs were left all sticky. When I sat to do my mani, there was no soaking my hands and the weirdest part was when she told me go to the sink and do my own scrub !!!!! Shocking!!! I thought I was on a hidden camera show.
Do not go here, don't waste your money and time. It's not worth it!!!

Words cannot describe my disappointment in this place! My friend and I took advantage of Spa Deal Days and were highly upset by all the services we received ESPECIALLY the Spa Mani/Pedi. No massage for the hands or feet and we had to rub the scrub OURSELVES into our hands and arms! For the amount they charge when it's NOT Spa Week or Deal days (95$) you would expect HIGH quality treatment from a "so called" high quality Spa. I am upset that I paid 50$ for the services. I go to spas frequently and have had many different experiences. MAXIMUS by FAR has been the worst overall experience. I wish I could get my time and money back! DO NOT GO HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I wish I had the money for a once a week massage by TINA. I settle for once every 4 to 6 weeks. BUT she treats me like I'm there all the time. At the end of the message all my pains are gone and I feel renewed. She is professional and a good spirit.

I went for a brazilian wax with my friend and they were alright...nothing to brag about. I would've expected better service, although the girl was really nice. I think that she was being rushed and was not as thorough as I was expecting. I would try it one more time before I give them a bad review.

I recently went to Maximus in the Source Mall in Westbury, NY. It was one of the most terrible hair cutting experiences I have had. I usually get my haircut in the city where I am willing to pay top salon prices for a great style and great service. Though Maximus charges city prices, they are extremely rude and unfortunately extremely incompetent in cutting hair. I strongly urge you to try another salon in Long Island because at Maximus, you will not receive the quality treatment a woman wants when getting a haircut.

i have been getting my hair cut and colored there for many years. i never had a problem once and even if i did, they always offer to correct it with no extra charge and are always willing to help me. as for the spa, they are always busy but their service and staff are always attentive and nice. they always accommodate me with my needs and i am very hard to please. when i got married last year, Lynn helped me at the spa and everyones hair and makeup came out perfect. i was so stressed out about it but then everyone looked beautiful and i was stress-free for my wedding day! i would defiantly give them a second chance because Maximus is really a great place. and it is defiantly not dirty whats so ever!

I went in to get my hair baliaged/balayaged at the Maximus in the Source Mall in Westbury, NY. Baliage is the french hair painting treatment that celebrities get (like Gisele) that gives them a sun-kissed blondeish hair color that when grown out at the roots, it still looks fabulous (google it). Anyway, I was provided with a colorist by the name of Nikki. I told her that I wanted to go from brunette to blonde with the baliage hair coloring technique and then showed her the pictures I brought in of Sarah Jessica Parker, Jennifer Aniston, and Gisele Bunchden. She told me that she did not think I could achieve becoming blonde and that she needed to do a strand test. After the strand test, she told me that she was surprised and that I can go any color I want. I told her to baliage me and get me the lightest blonde that would complement my skin tone. Since there are no mirrors in the color dept. I could not see what was going on. I felt her putting plastic on my hair and doing it like highlights. She then put me under a dryer, which is not needed with baliage. She then told me that it would cost and additional $35 to blow out my curly hair after she washed it. I was already paying $150 and needed to give her a decent tip so I declined paying the additional $35. When the wash was done, I went to the mirror and my hair seemed the same color! She told me that when I blow it out at home, it'll look great and that I'll see the color. I went home and blew my hair out and realized that she did a half head of red highlights! Everyone at work the next day that were expecting me to come in blonde, said it looked horrible! I called Nikki and told her and she tried to act oblivious and said that my hair didn't take. I scheduled a color correction/re-do with Eddie. I went in and he told me that I was unrealistic and that I cannot have Baliage done. He said that it would jeopardize the condition of my hair. He said that down the line I could be blonde but it would be way in the future after being dedicated and coming in for highlights every 4 weeks. He made me sign a waiver stating that I understood what he explained about haircolor and how it affects the hair. He then told me that he will do highlights all over that will make my hair look baliaged. Well, he only put blonde highlights underneath and toned the red highlights on top. My hair now has red highlights on top and blonde highlights on the bottom with mostly brunette hair all over. This is not what I wanted! I paid for something I never got. I am going to complain to corporate. I am very unhappy. I thought going to a trendy salon would be a great choice for a trendy hair treatment. I was so wrong. All they have is a fancy name and location.

I was given a gift certificate for a massage and facial. All of the reception staff were incredibly rude. The woman that checked me in didn't welcome me or even look me in the eyes and then when I checked out she didn't bother to get off the phone to ask me how the services were. The massage was okay but nothing special and during the facial the woman didn't stop trying to upgrade or sell their products. The place was dirty. I would never return!
