My 70th Birthday Present
I went to Vanities Spa on my 70th birthday! I had the 45-minute massage and extended it with "Nap Time". The owner and spa therapist, Nancy, worked on my back and legs first. When I turned over, the first thing I said (besides "that felt great!") was, "That didn't hurt." I have gone for massages before and the technique was too hard and it hurt me. Nancy's pressure was firm, and got to the sore areas, but she didn't hurt at all. In fact, I dozed off, it felt so comfortable. My other surprise was that Nancy gave me a birthday present! We had talked about her facials, so during my "Nap Time" she gifted me with 20-minutes under her Light Therapy so that my skin would be energized and more youthful! That was so sweet, and I did look and feel firm and re-energized after my treatment. It was a wonderful way to celebrate my 70th birthday. To all the "over-50's" out there, if you've never done it before, now is the time to start having regular spa treatments. It helps with our mobility, and is a gift we need to give ourselves! Vanities Spa is Wonderful!
My husband gave me a Spa Finder Gift Certificate for Christmas. I went online to find a spa and saw that this spa was actually in my neighborhood, so I checked out their website and was delighted to see that I could book online, which I did. I booked a facial (The Vantastic Facial) and a massage. It was WONDERFUL! The massage included warm stones, which I wasn't expecting - and the "computer tension" in my shoulders just melted away. The "Vantastic" facial lasted about an hour and was the best facial I have ever had! I kissed my husband a thousand times for such a thoughtful gift, and planned my return to Vanities Spa.

a nice day out!
I received Spa Finder certificates for my birthday. I made an appointment easily with Vanities Spa the same day the certificates arrived. I was not impressed with the facilities, but truly enjoyed my services. Nancy's techniques were spectacular. She was honest and professional. I had no problem using my certificates. I would recommend.

My husband bought me a Spa Finder Gift Card for my birthday and after reading all of the wonderful reviews and checking out their website, I chose Vanities Spa for my birthday present. All I can say is "Wow! Awesome!". In fact, I could barely say anything I was SOO relaxed. Like a lot of the reviewers, I've been to many spas across the country (and in a few international locations - and a cruise ship!) and BY FAR, Vanities Spa was THE BEST! I totally enjoyed the privacy and peace and quiet. Nancy, the owner and my facialist, was exceptional. I booked my next facial that day and I can't wait to visit again. This will now be my spa of choice. I HIGHLY recommend Vanities Spa and encourage you to get in a.s.a.p. - you will LOVE it! A.J. Lexington, KY

Every Month for Vantastic Skin!
Vanities Spa is like having my own private retreat and spa. Nancy is wonderful! She gives the best facials I have ever had. Vanities is the only place in Lexington where you get the entire spa to yourself! What a treat! You even get to pick the music. I go every month and use the Vantastic Skin products daily. My skin now looks the way I've always wanted it to look. People are always complimenting me on it. If you want to look good and feel good, Vanities Spa is the place to go. Judith Lexington, KY

Just a Simple Thank You
I just wanted to say "Thank you". I can't tell you how much better I feel after spending a little time with you. I had never had a facial before and didn't know what to expect. But, what an amazing experience. It was so, what's the word, meditative, that's it. Just the peace and quiet, the relaxing music, and the wonderful scents ... and of course, your magical touch! I can't thank you enough for introducing me to such a perfect gift for myself! I can't wait til next month! Oh!, and my skin feels so smooth and clean! What a delight!

Do not use SpaFinder or SpaWish certificates for this spa
I tried to use my $50 spawish card months ago. The owner of the spa "accidentally" charged my full service to my credit card, handed the gift cards back to me, and said i'd have to use them for a future appointment at Vanities. I went back to use the cards today, told the owner in my online request for an appointment that I would be using the cards, and once again, was told that I would have to pay by credit card. She said she was no longer accepting gift cards from spawish or spafinder, even though Vanities is still listed as a partner on their website. I asked if I could pay for today's visit and receive a $50 Vanities certificate for a future visit. I was told that the only thing that could be done was to take my tip off of my previous visit and apply it to today's visit. So, now I have spent over $100 over 2 visits, plus a $50 gift card that I can't even use within 63 miles of my city when I only intended to pay $25 for one visit. It seems awfully convenient for the owner to have "accidentally" charged the full amount of the first visit to my credit card, ignored the fact that I planned on using the card again today, and somewhere between, stopped accepting gift cards from spawish and spafinder.
UPDATE December 2010 It's been months since I've heard from this person and I would like the negative review removed, please. As much as I appreciate her desire to speak out publicly, all reviews show up in Google search and have the potential to damage a healthy business. Hers is the ONLY bad review tainting my name. But any new client reading "Don't use Spa Finder" would begin to have doubts. I was the FIRST salon in Kentucky to accept the Spa Finder Gift Certificates and have done so successfully since 2003! >>> >>> >>> >>> As the owner and spa therapist, I would like to respond. I've been in business nearly 20 years and, as you will read, get glowing reviews (that I deeply appreciate). My first response is in the accusation that I "accidentally" charged her credit card. That implies that I intended to act deceitfully, which I did not. It was an honest mistake that I noticed immediately and attempted to correct. At the time we both agreed that it was no big deal, and that she could use the SpaWish GC next time. And, yes, it is unfortunate that the "next time" occurred after I had stopped accepting SpaWish (but I still accept SpaFinder). This announcement was posted on my website. For her point, she is correct. I did miss her message of wanting to use the SpaWish GC when she sent her online request. This is the main reason I chose to simplify: too many areas to keep up-to-date with. So, when she handed me the SpaWish GC as payment I answered her with my most up-to-date information, not realizing that she had alerted me to it beforehand (via the 3rd party online booking system). When she showed dissatisfaction, I started brainstorming ideas of how to handle this very unique situation. I offered her a monetary reduction and believed that would have been more than acceptable. I totally see her point and wish I could offer her something to rectify the situation. I went so far as to contact SpaWish corporate personally to ask if they would refund her money - or if there was an online site where she could use them. I then emailed her my findings. She emailed me back and requested no further communication. As a business owner, of course I feel horrible about this and wish she and I could gain a more favorable ground. Gladly, these sorts of situations are rare and most clients enjoy a smooth, happy relationship with me and my spa. I invite you to do the same.

Among the bulk of mega-spas and the wanna-be spas - hair salons that stick a facial room in the back, Vanities Spa stands out above the pack. It is the ONLY place I know of where you truly have the spa to yourself - not in someone's house or a single operator in a hair salon ... but truly the entire spa space is yours for the length of your experience! That kind of privacy and luxury is usually reserved for the wealthiest among us. You get the experienced owner as your spa therapist and will enjoy 5-star expert service in all treatments, which are tailored to your needs that day. I've gone in with a headache and left floating on air! Another time, Nancy, the owner/therapist, had a client and couldn't see me, but she let me use the steam room free of charge to help me detox after a bad day! Incredible! At Vanities Spa you feel like a friend - not like a number or a time slot. The personal attention to detail is unmatched. I am so thankful that I live in Lexington and can frequent Vanities Spa. I don't know what I'd do without it.

I just returned from Vanities Spa and all I can say is "WOW"! The owner, Nancy, gave me the BEST facial! I also had the Cocoon Wrap and Body Scrub which ended with a luxurious soak in their steam and shower room! I literally FLOATED home. What a wonderful place. I can't wait until my next spa day at Vanities! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
