I have had numerous deep tissue massages where I ask that they focus on a particular area (my left shoulder/neck area) due to it being the place where my stress resides. It never fails that they may spend an extra 3-5 minutes there. Well that was not the case upon explaining my stress area to Jason. He truly did spend the majority of the time there and worked most of the stress out. My shoulder feels much lighter and less painful as a result. I'm looking forward to returning to see Jason next month for my shoulder stress relief.

Enjoyed an extended massage, hydro facial and reflexology massage. What an perfect combination. Anita and Kevin are the best and focused on areas I had no idea were even bad. Will definitely go back.

I have been twice now, both with students, and enjoyed it very much. I have a regular massage therapist I use, but I was given a spa finder gc and so I went here. I then received about a month later an email with a deal to get a massage for $20, so I returned. The atmosphere is not as good as other spas, but for the price you can't beat it. Both students I got were very knowledgeable and listen to what I asked for and provided a great massage.

I only gave this a less than 5 star because the atmosphere (lobby and treatment rooms) is not as luxurious as some other spas, but if you want a great therapeutic massage at a great price, this is the place to go. I'll be back again!

I just wanted to let everyone know about the wonderful service I received at Institute of Bodywork Studies. I received a spafinder gift certificate this valentines day from someone that loves me and thought I should give them a try. I chose a therapeutic service since the shoulder is all was giving me problems. I have not felt that kind of relief ever and look forward to my next appointment.

I had the most relaxing, soothing and professional massage I have ever had and it can not be beat at $30. The students are wonderful.

The saying goes that you get what you pay for, but I don't find that true here. I have always gone with a massage with an already licensed therapist which is $40 for 50 minutes and out of the multiple times I have been there I have only had once experience that I didn't thoroughly enjoy. All of the other massages I have gotten there were equal to massages that I have paid 2 or sometimes 3 times as much for. I would and have recommended this spa to others and gotten gift certificates for several friends. It may not have quite the atmosphere as an upscale spa, but I find the atmosphere relaxing and enjoyable. If you are worried about getting a massage from a student ($30) then simply request a licensed ($40) or an advanced ($60) therapist for your session. Like any other trade massage therapist have to have continuing credit hours so just because you get a massage from them at the school doesn't mean they haven't been doing massage for years. I know, I know... that is a lot of words for a review, but I really do enjoy my time at Institute of Bodywork Studies.

Although I have received intern/student massages elsewhere, this was my first time at this Spa. The staff was friendly and professional. My massage began on time and the intern was as good as most of the professional massages that I have received over the years. Atfer the massage, I left extremely relaxed.

I made an appointment for my daughter and I to have a couple's massage (she is under 18). The appt was 12:30. Her therapist wasn't even in the building. They called her and she was on her way. At 12:50, they offered to start my massage. At 12:55, my massage has started adn the other therapist comes in to set up the massage table for my daughter. At 1:00 they finally started on my daughter. Constant interruptions. Not relaxing at all. They hurried through our massages to get us off the tables by 1:30 so the next scheduled appointment could come. While waiting before and after, we got to hear the staff bad mouth each other, talk about the therapist getting written up, and hearing them call the manager. They gave us a gift certificate for a future visit. Not sure that we'll even use it....aggravation isn't even worth a bad, free massage.
