About Anse Chastanet

Against the backdrop of the stately Piton mountains, Anse Chastanet is a secluded tropical hideaway on St. Lucia’s southwestern coast. The 600-acre estate, complete with two powdery-sand beaches fringed by pristine coral reefs, features an exceptional range of resort facilities that bring out the relaxed, romantic, and adventurous side of every traveler. The spa—named Kai Belté, which means “house of beauty,” in St. Lucian patois—sits at beach level, as does a hut where more than 10 yoga classes per week are held. In the five treatment rooms, open-air salon, and cabana overlooking the Anse Chastanet reef, guests receive treatments that balance ancient and modern techniques and are complemented by natural ingredients acquired from Emerald Estate, the resort’s organic farm in the Soufriere hills.

Located on the south end of Anse Chastanet, Kai Belté Spa embodies the natural, easygoing feel that permeates the island resort. Guests will discover an open-air hair and nail salon and six treatment rooms at this beachside location, including a cabana poised hilltop above the coral reefs of Anse Chastanet bay; christened Kai Mer, Creole for “house of the sea,” the cabana offers dazzling views of the Caribbean Sea and Anse Chastanet beach.

A variety of classic and signature spa rituals are on hand, from Thai massage and the Rose Renewal Facial to the Loofah and Sea Salt Body Scrub and Wosh Cho, Anse Chastanet’s version of a hot stone massage. Ayurvedic treatments comprise a chakra balancing massage, Shirodhara, and the Bindi herbal body treatment. The experience is enhanced with the use of luxury products from the Aromatherapy Associates, Tara, and Body Bliss collections.

Kai Belté Spa welcomes guests 12 and older.

Facilities & Amenities

Facilities & Amenities

Anse Chastanet has many activities to help guests enjoy its beautiful, tropical location—the preferred one being relaxation. Many guests carve out plenty of time to spa, sunbathe on the beach, or simply enjoy the sparkling Caribbean setting. More energetic guests can play tennis, participate in daily escorted walks and hikes throughout the 12 miles of private trails, or sign up for one of the resort’s fitness-oriented programs, led by instructor Ty Ferrell. Mountain bike instruction for complete novices and challenging routes for those with more experience are available, and a dive facility, located on the beach below the resort, provides classes and night dives. The Anse Chastanet watersports center features complimentary scuba diving equipment, windsurfers, sunfish sailing boats, and kayaks. Those looking to explore the local culture can sign up for half-day, full-day, or sunset cruises aboard the resort yacht or tours of Sulfur Springs, St. Lucia's famous "walk-in" volcano, and the 18th-century French colonial plantation of Anse Mamin.

Rooms & Dining

Rooms & Dining

Anse Chastanet offers 49 individually designed rooms, a majority of which are scattered about a lush hillside; the others are nestled within a tropical garden at beach level. Select rooms encompass just three walls, opening onto stellar views where the fourth would be. Decor thoughtfully borrows from the local island culture: Vibrant cushions and bedspreads come from cotton madras fabric, known as St. Lucia’s “national cloth,” and furnishings are regionally made, handcrafted from island woods like teak, mahogany, green heart, red, cedar, and wild breadfruit. Other design elements include jalousie louvre windows, and each room is appointed with a fridge, coffeemaker, and in-room safe.

The dinner menu in Treehouse, where diners are seated in an open-air setting high amid trees, changes daily and consists of fine Caribbean cuisine. Apsara serves fusion dishes that blend St. Lucia fare with East Indian influences, while Emerald’s has strictly vegetarian dishes. The laidback Jungle Reef Bar & Grill, on the resort’s Anse Mamin beach, is another option.
