Second visit even better than before
Last weekend I visited the Clover Mill for the second time and I have to say it was even better this time than when I visited back in May. The location remains a huge positive - its just so beautiful and completely cut off from all the stress of the everyday world - nature in abundance!! The lodges are just wonderful - I'd almost forgotten just how luxurious the bathrooms are and the view across the lake from your bed is to die for. I absolutely loved the yoga and meditation classes - after a stressful time at work this was exactly what I needed - I was literally just transported to a different world. The one thing I really wanted to focus on in this review however was the food - OMG! Freshly made 3 courses of scumptiousness utilising seasonal ingredients that tasted and looked like something you would be served in a top restaurant. I was so impressed and even after eating second helpings and pudding every night I came home absolutely glowing and having actually lost weight as well. Honestly - if I lived closer I would be visiting every weekend. I just can't wait to go back again. This place is a little piece of heaven on earth!

Blissful weekend
This was a weekend of firsts for me. Although I regularly spend individual days at Spa hotels, this was my first full weekend and also my first introduction to Ayurveda. It truly is a retreat - set down a winding country lane, its peaceful calm descends the moment you get out of your car. The Spa is set in a sympathetically restored water mill with many of the working parts on display. From the top floor yoga studio to the steam room at the bottom, all the floors show off the heritage of the building beautifully. The eco lodges are luxurious and very comfortable. Set next to the lake, just a short distance from the mill, you can feel a sense of seclusion and privacy. The Ayurvedic food tastes wonderful and the presentation makes it almost too pretty to eat. You won't be left to go hungry, even cake is part of an Ayurvedic diet. But for me, the best part of the weekend has to be the Ayurvedic treatments, tailored for my newly discovered 'dosha'. The full body massage was so relaxing and the facial has to be the best I've ever had. You really have to try them to understand how special they are. So many thanks to Julie for being such a welcoming host and to Lisa for the amazing therapies. I hope I can visit again soon.

Tailor Made
There is a serene calm that envelops The Clover Mill and as soon as I stepped out of the car I knew I could spend time there. Amid the stunning setting of the old Water Mill the luxurious lodges feel secluded, amid the trees, with a lovely view over the lake. They are superbly appointed with simple furniture, beautiful linen and just about the most comfortable bed I have slept in! Attention to detail is everywhere and the restoration of the mill into treatment areas and yoga studio has been done so well that it is a pleasure to be there. The therapist tailor made the treatments based on my Ayurvedic body type and the aroma of the oils brought an added dimension to my relaxing massage. Julie and her staff are cheerful, warm and friendly, everything is relaxed and personal, just what I needed!

Luxurious tranquility - a real sanctuary retreat
After travelling the world, this is one of the most beautiful and magical places I have ever experienced. The Clover Mill exceeded every expectation I had, the Ayurvedic spa, the food, the service and the environment were fantastic. I felt so relaxed and well rested after staying there. The staff were exc and Julie tailormade the perfect stay for us, even down to the delicious meals and spa treatments. The spa itself is set in a restored 17th century clover mill which lends a unique sense of calm to the place. I had the 90minute massage and it was heavenly. I'd also recommend the morning yoga session in the studio in the rooftop of the mill. Undisputedly, the best spa I've been to in the UK for atmos, environment and service. Even my husband loved it! At night in our eco-lodge, we left our floor to ceiling windows open and listened to the brook outside, the grunt of alpacas and the occasional call of wild pheasant. We drove back to Cheltenham already planning a return trip next year. Just amazing to believe it's just on our doorstep!

My first but not my last
I had a fabulous relaxing weekend at the clover mill, definitely recommended. The weekend package included two 70-90 minute treatments and were the best I've had anywhere. I went to my first yoga class and now go to a local one every week. The lodges and facilities are excellent and the vegetarian food delicious and beautifully presented. It was a fascinating introduction to Ayerveda and I came home invigorated and inspired, ready for anything.

Tranquility
We spent the weekend at the Clover Mill, such a beautiful setting, and our room, one of three eco lodges set along the stream was so quiet that we didn't hear the rain storm. Did yoga and had a massage and felt so relaxed afterwards, we didn't even mind the drive back to London.

Something different but very special
As you arrive at the Clover Mill, along a winding country lane, you start to feel the tension gradually ease. There is something so peaceful and relaxing about the beautiful grounds in which the mill is located that it feels like being wrapped in a big comforting blanket. None of this beauty and tranquillity has been lost in the sensitive and creative conversion of the mill and its grounds into an exquisite destination spa. The view from my lodge over the lake was just breath taking and waking up to the sun streaming through the full length windows, with the ducks swimming on the lake and the gentle sound of bird song, was alone worth the 3 hour trip from where I live. Once you add in the fabulously tasty, but incredibly healthy meals, included as part of the package - together with some of the most relaxing and well-being inducing spa treatments I've ever had I was hooked and already planning when I could visit again. I have visited many spas around the world but none of them compare with the beauty and simplicity of the Clover Mill. After 3 days there I felt as if I was just floating and felt fully recharged ready to head back to face the world. I cannot recommend enough this experience.
