I have VERY difficult hair - long, unbelievably thick, coarse. Short just doesn't work and I always have to pull it back or it STAYS crowded in my face. I wanted to keep some length but have something I could work with. Amanda (I'll call her Super Stylist) took LOTS of time to 'deal' with me and my hair and she did a fabulous job figuring out what would work. I got color, cut, and style, but it was really SO much more, including the great hand massage bonus. Everyone was pleasant and seemed happy to be there. Amanda IS my new stylist!!

I'm new to the Phoenix area and have tried 4 or so different salons, this is the only one I will be going back to. My stylist was excellent, very professional and very skilled. Mood Swings really showed me how amazing living in Phoenix can be and how genuine the people are. It feels great to know I have found that and I will look great in a new city with my new cut and color!

My hair stylist did a great job! I love my hair now and am not afraid to wear it down! Finding someone to cut curly hair well is extremely difficult but she did such a good job.

I first came in with a Groupon and had a great experience. They send out a lot of specials over email and Twitter, which has made it affordable for me to continue to get my hair done there. Their 20% off last minute appointment emails is great for making it an affordable salon for those of us who need to watch our budgets.

The first time that a stylist actually "blow dryed and styled" my hair, unlike other salons who take a flat iron straight to your head. My hair felt alive, vibrant and full of volume. Jordan was very attentive and amiable, consulting on hair care needs and concerns that I expressed. The service was fantastic, best ever! This is the first time (in a long time) that I did not feel rushed by the stylist, so that she may attend multiple clients. Jordan was with me through my entire experience and I feel that speaks highly of the Mood Swings salon, not to mention the genuine interest and care that the stylists have for their clients.

When I booked my appointment I was afraid I would have to wait, but the friendly staff got me in the next day! I showed my stylist a few photos and said I wanted something 'similar' but for her to use her own judgment, she did an awesome job! I got a compliment not 10 feet out of the salon, some guy stopped me on the sidewalk and told me how 'cute' I looked. Everyone has remarked on how good my style is :-) I also got a brow wax for the first time and she did an excellent job. I've lived all over the valley for the last 15 years and this is the hands-down best salon experience I've ever had. I will definitely be back, even though it is a 40 minute drive away! I plan on dragging some friends along with me next time.

Located near ASU, it's conveniently near many restaurants and shops. The spa is located on the 1st level and there is a hair salon upstairs. Wouldn't go out of my way to come here but it'll do if I'm in a time crunch.
