My therapist did a good job, just a little dark for my taste but i could appreciated the Deco
My therapist did a good job. I like the fact that i was acknowledgded as soon as i entered the Spa, the young lady even took my coat for me and hung it up. I understood the theme of the Spa it was just a little unusual for me maybe a splash of color somewhere would have eased me in the relaxation area, but it wont keep me from going back..

Most Relaxing Hair Cut and Style...EVER!
I scheduled my first appointment at Studio 2000 for 10:00 a.m. today with Tim. I arrived early to make sure I could find parking at a meter and easily found the spa. The young lady who greeted me was very nice and offered me coffee, tea or water. As my appointment time was getting closer she came over to tell me that my stylist was running late and she offered to go down to Starbucks to buy me a coffee for my inconvenience. I did not take her up on it but appreciated the offer. I expected the stylist to rush me through the cut since he was running late. However, Tim was very courteous when he arrived and promptly apologized for being late. We discussed what I wanted and from the moment he started washing my hair until the moment he put the finishing touches on my new style I was completely relaxed. Relaxed like I had received a massage. It was the most peaceful haircut I've ever received. He took his time, did not try to force conversation, did not push products on me to purchase. The price was a little more than I was expecting to pay, but it was well worth it! I will definitely return to Studio 2000!

I love going to see Brita for her waxing service. She makes a painful process virtually painless with her technique. The staff is always warm and welcoming and I never wait long for my appointment. The ambiance of the salon is truly relaxing. Can't wait to go again!

This is the place for my 3 year old to get a haircut!
Now I know how nice the staff is and how convenient it is for me to swing by after work, I take my 3 year old to this salon all the time. She loves to look at the monument circle when we go to studio 2000. I love her style and the speed of the service!

I"ll Be Back!!
I truly enjoyed my facial and massage. I plan to return for a variety of services. The atmosphere and staff were quite comforting. I plan to recommend Studio 2000 to my family and friends. Thank you Georgiana, Rebecca, and Mona for making my visit a great one!!

I had several college friends in town and took them to Studio 2000 for massage and pedi services. It was perfect! The staff took care of us like queens. The front desk person even fed my meter where my car was parked since we stayed longer than we planned. I had a massage with Melissa and it was awesome. My friend had her hair blown out even tho we didn't have an appointment but they worked her in. She loved it and now wants the gal to cut her hair. My stock went up with my friends after this visit, thanks to Studio 2000.

I was in Indianapolis for the weekend and visited Studio 2000 for a massage. I made the appointment weeks prior as I knew I would have some free time during my visit. Today when I arrived, I waited outside the salon for the receptionist to arrive. She arrived, obviously running late, and then told me to have a seat in the front waiting area. After a few minutes, she escorted me to the "relaxation room", which was dark and a little eerie. I waited for 43 minutes (I arrived at 9:30am since this is customery for nice spas), and finally at 10:13am (my appointment was scheduled for 10am), I returned to the receptionist area and asked when my service would start. She explained that the massage therapist was "stuck in a lot of traffic and was running late". I was not offered a magazine (went out and got reading material myself from the front waiting area), was not offered a beverage, and was not informed of the status of my service until I asked. I was extremely disappointed and frustrated. I then explaiined to her that I couldn't wait any longer and that I was going to leave. She looked at me and said, "do you want to reschedule?"...of course, I did not as I wanted a relaxing experience, and this was obviously not the place for me. I would not reccommend this salon/spa to anyone unless you have a lot of time and a lot of patience.
A message from Kevin Williams, Owner: First let me thank Spafinder for allowing me to respond to this review. As the owner of Studio 2000, I find it interesting, since I spoke with this person twice after her visit. First of all, my business opens on Mondays at 10:00am. AlisonN and her mother arrived at 9:15am when my staff member arrived to open and prepare the spa for guests, 45 minutes early. She was not running late. Once she had the lights dimmed, the candles lit, the soothing music on, the tea brewing and the spa fully prepared, were the two guests escorted to our historic, black tile Art Deco relaxation room. Our spa is stocked with hardcover books that feature the history of Art Deco and the Egyptian influences of the time. Our room is featured in several of these. Magazines are also on all of the side tables. Secondly, this was on February 15th, the day of the biggest snow storm to hit the midwest. Roads were impassable and traffic was snarled getting into the city. My therapist was caught in this gridlock and yes, she did arrive late due to the extreme conditions. AlisonN had attempted to book a pedicure for her mother, but did not respond to several calls on Sunday from us to book it. Since we did not hear back from her, we scheduled another guest in that slot. Obviously her mother would have to wait, since she didn't follow through. I am a bit frustrated and disappointed also since my conversations with AlisonN, I thought, had resolved her anger and I had offered her complimentary services for her to return. Her review here portrays us in a negative light, when we did nothing wrong, other than try to accomodate her under severe weather conditions and an extremely early surprise arrival. We strive to help our guests relax, unwind and enjoy the serenity of our award winning spa. I am very sorry that AlisonN was let down, and I expressed that to her in my phone conversations with her, offering to make it up to her and her mother. We try to be understanding when guests are late, especially when road conditions are dangerous and we ask that our guests give our staff the same courtesy and understanding at tmes when their life could be in danger when commuting into the city. If any guests of Studio 2000 has issue or concerns about my business or our staff's efforts to please them, I encourage you to call me direct. I will do my best to uphold our 100% guarantee that has been the cornerstone of Studio 2000 for the past 20 years. Kevin Williams Owner

A somewhat unique spa
The location is right at the center of downtown so it was a somewhat unique experience, it was relaxing and exciting at the same time. I did not care for the deco that much because I have a more contempatory taste. The lady who did my facial was great. She did the most thorough extraction I have even seen and my skin really needed it. She was great.

First opened in 1929 it is one of the only surviving art deco interiors of it's kind in the world. Originally the Circle Tower Barbershop the inlaid black and silver tiles speak volumes of the artisans who created it. Similar in design to the Empire State Building in New York, we ask that you visit us anytime for a personal tour by me. Massage of a lifetime
Came to town for my birthday,Was gave a hour massage by David J. It was one of the best That I have had in a long time. We had got lost,staff was very helpful. Studio itself was beautiful. Will be back soon when in town.

Very nice ambience and excellent massage (I had deep tissue, one hour). A bit overpriced for the Indianapolis market, but perhaps having the location right on Monument Circle contributes to that. All-in-all a great experience!
Thank you for your review. Our pricing is competitive with similar spas in both the Indianapolis suburbs and like-size markets. We are not the most expensive spa in downtown but we consider ourselves the best! In fact many loyal guests have indicated that in our 20 years of being in business on Monument Circle! A must see!
The atmosphere is the most important feature of a spa in my opinion. Studio 2000 gets an A+ for aesthetically pleasing surroundings. Be sure to check out the original tiles in the relaxation room. Gorgeous!!

We aquired the space from George Dixon the barber who took it over from the original owner in 1949.
