About Red Door Spa at The Westin La Paloma Resort
Surrounded by the Sonoran Desert foothills, picturesque Santa Catalina Mountains, century-old giant saguaro cactuses and a 27-hole Jack Nicklaus-designed golf course, the Westin La Paloma Resort in Tucson offers true southwestern character. Opened in 1986, La Paloma, Spanish for "the dove," blends architectural elements from Native American, Spanish-colonial, Mexican and Anglo-American groups that have resided in the region. Twisting staircases, Spanish-tiled scalloped rooftops, wide foyers and subdued pumpkin, blue, maroon and marigold tones can be found throughout the property, its 487 guest rooms and its 9,300-square-foot Elizabeth Arden Red Door Spa.
Within the surrounding desert countryside are landmarks such as Colossal Cave and the Kitt Peak Observatory. Horseback riding and jeep excursions are also nearby. The resort's facilities include three outdoor heated pools, ten well-lit tennis courts and the French-inspired Janos restaurant headed by James Beard award-winning chef Janos Wilder.
