Circe Aveda Lifestyle Salon Spa

I originally chose Circe because I had a SpaFinder gift certificate from my mother-in-law-to-be. It was right around the corner from my home in Old Town, Alexandria. I fell in love! I got a manicure that was expertly done in a calming environment. I was a little early for my appointment so they pulled me aside for a complimentary neck and shoulder massage. Loved! Since, I have gotten my eyebrows done and scheduled several massages with the guy who did my impromptu massage! Definitely recommend

I used to go to Circe ALL of the time when I lived in NOVA a couple years ago - best colorist (LOVED HER)!!; great haircuts! The problem was that the prices increased EVERY TIME I walked into the salon! I WAS a loyal once a month customer, switching between partial/full foils & a hair cut with no frills. The problem was that every partial cost as much as the full the previous time, then the full price would increase. The front desk pushed products, appointments and many other extras! I stopped at $350 in 2010. ENOUGH ALREADY!

I've been struggling with acne for decades and used various products over the years. Although expensive I decided to try this 80min treatment. My technician was Adiam. She was running a few minutes late and asked their massage therapist to offer a complimentary chair massage while I waited. I declined but thought the offer was good customer service. Since the treatment started late I set a timer to ensure I received the full 80min...and she gave me much more. The bed was comfortable and warm. I normally have pain on the back of my head by the end of a long facial but not this time. Before and during the treatment she queried me on various aspects of my skin care and dietary regime. Instead of pushing products, she encouraged me to increase the greens and fish oils in my diet. We scheduled the next treatment for 2 weeks later when she said we can consider adding Aveda products. The next day and for the next week, the worst acne below my ears on my neck has been minimal. I believe this is from the photo light treatment that she used in that area. I go back today for my next treatment and think the inclusion of greens/fish oil supplements has helped a lot.

My first experience with this location is the salon for a basic haircut. I was greeted upon entry, coat checked and able to relax as I was informed my stylist would be right with me. Jess started with a scalp massage with refreshing oil then off to hair wash station. A nice massage while washing my hair and then back to the chair. She make quick work of my dead ends and blew out so well it almost looked as if I had flat-ironed. I hope to try out the spa soon as the treatment options sound wonderful.

I discovered this amazing salon just walking to meet a friend after work one day! I stopped in to get a menu, and was greeted by a friendly gentleman who took me on a tour of the place-NICE! I came back two weeks later for a cut with Jessica and a facial with Adia. Jessica was very accommodating and so knowledgeable ...i mean if anyone can decipher my convoluted fantasies of hairstyles, I give them full credit. And she delivered. Adia had a FANTASTIC touch, my face was so soft, and clean! It looked like my pores shrunk after all of her extractions. I will be back, especially when Adia informed me that the spa uses hard wax, no more OUCH bikinis!

I have been going to Circe for my hair color/cut/style for 6 years, and they keep my incredibly long hair looking beautiful and healthy. The service is amazing and the staff are all very friendly. Maria is by far the BEST colorist in the area, and Kait always gives me a fresh look with a new cut and style...she has a great eye for what will make me look my best. It is definitely worth the cost!

I went in for a trim and the stylist ended up putting layers in my hair (which I did not ask for). I get the top of my hair highlighted but not the hair underneath, so she had left me a one inch strip of dark hair along the bottom. She said "oh it looks very rock and roll" (which is so not me) and then said "no one looks at the back of your head anyway". I was very upset & asked to speak to a manager. I was told she would be there shortly. She left me waiting for half an hour, then walked in & stood there chatting with the girls from the front desk for 15 minutes. When she finally approached me she was rude and condescending to me. When I showed her what happened to my hair, she told me that she didn't know what my hair looked like before I arrived. So now I have to take pictures of my hair before I receive a salon service? Ridiculous. She told me that a sr. stylist would fix my hair (there went another 2 inches of my hair), which she then charged me for. Turns out this lady is the owner. I understand that mistakes will happen & it's upsetting, but it's how those mistakes are handled that make all of the difference in the world. This woman was unbelievably and obnoxiously rude to me & needs lessons in manners & customer service.

I treated my mom & myself to facials here for mother's day a couple of years ago and we loved it!!! This was my mom's first facial and now she's hooked!! Thanks!

I have been coming to Circe for almost 3 years now. This place draws me in because of the great services they provide and the great customer service they give. It is not your typical upscale salon with a team full of snobs.....this salon is diverse so you don't see the same boring things each time you visit. Kait does my hair and Sharlia does my facials and waxings. If you haven't been to Circe yet....you should book now!

HORRIBLE RESULTS. I will never ever return to this salon. Crappy hair color and second rate hair cut. the color looked like I used shoe polish to dab onto my hair

My massage therapist was so nurturing and caring....she customized the massage for my individual needs and wow did I feel good..I even bought a spafinder gc for a couples massage so i can bring my girlfriend and we will get massages to gether!!!!!
