  • About Bella Donna Spa

    Bella Donna, located in Alexandria, Virginia (close to Kingstowne, Virginia), describes itself as a "friendly neighborhood establishment." The spa has been open for more than 15 years and still has many of the original staff members and believes that the clients find the services "consistent, well-priced, and the technicians the best in their specialty." Clients are invited to treat themselves to a European-style facial or a much-needed massage with a hot stone add-on. Treatments feature Dermalogica products exclusively. As a bonus, you can purchase any one Dermalogica retail product at 20 percent off with any facial experience. Massages include our Bliss, "LaStone" Hot Stone Massage, bamboo, Swedish and deep tissue. Acupuncture is available as are spa paraffin pedicures and brow waxing. The spa also carries the Bare Escentuals Bare Mineral line of cosmetics, spa gifts and gift certificate packages for any occasion.

I just left Bella Donna's Spa and I will never go back again. I went to the spa because I have a Spa Finder gift card for $50.00. It was t he worse manicure and pedicure that I have ever received and I can not believe that I spent $75.00 for this so call service. They do not have massage chairs just a beatup lounge chair and a heat pad that they put around your neck. They use a plastic pail to soak your feet. I could have done a better job at home by soaking my feet in my bathtub and polishing my toes because that was basically what I received. The spa manicure and pedicure took a total of 70 minutes. I have never been so disappointed in my life what a waste of time and money. Never again and I would not recommend that anyone to go there if they want a real manicure and pedicure.

I have to agree with a previous poster about the pedicures -- I could have given myself the same extact treatment at home. It was definitely a "no frills" experience and I was thoroughly disappointed. I am actually going elsewhere today to have a proper pedicure. The only reason I went to Bella Donna was because I had a SpaFinder giftcard. After 2 weeks at the beach my feet were rough and there was sand in every crevice. I walked out with those same rough feet and sand, and only a single coat of polish on my toes. I love pedicures and usually walk away from them with "happy feet" -- I walked away from Bella Donna with the same feet that walked in just with a different color polish on my toes.

This spa should NOT offer pedicures if the service we received was all they offer. I can soak my feet in a dishpan at home. There was no whirlpool. The technician did do a good job in trimming my toenails. I had less than a minute massage and my feet are just as rough as they were going in. The parrifin wax, if that'swhat is was, never hardened and it was over heated. It may have been watered down. My feet were oversaturated with oils so my polish ran. She put my sandels on without drying my feet It was just a sloppy mess!! I will go to another place to have them fix this mess. I DO NOT recommend getting a pedicure here. I'm sure the other services must be better. Otherwise there is no way they could stay in business.

Staff at Bella Donna were very kind and worked to sneak me in to their schedule when I happened to be off of work for the day. The spa is small and enjoyable. I enjoyed a very nice and relaxing facial and would go back again. Reading other posts concerned about services offered, I am actually thankful that they appear to specialize in quieter services like facials and massages. I appreciate that they left the stench that comes with nail services to the cheap places next to the grocery store.

I went today to get a pedicure and brow wax. While all the staff was friendly, I just didnt get that vibe that this is my salon. They do not offer hair services, and they do not offer anything with chemicals. (I needed a fill). Still, wanting to try the place badly because I live so close, I stayed. Eh, it was ok.

Hi Megan; Sorry for the no hair or chemical nail treatments...we had offered them in the past and each of them presented concerns with the smells and noise factor. We are a much quieter & peaceful spa, and usually clients are very happy with the aromas instead of the smells from the other types of treatments. Anyway, I hope you will reconsider and get a facial or a massage and since you still have credit on account, please come in a purchase retail or use towards a service. i called last minute and was able to get in for a facial and a manicure. the services were great. the technicians were so attentive. The manicure included hot paraffin wax which felt wonderful on my "always cold" hands. The Facial was so relaxing after a long and stressful day at work. I'm so glad they were able to fit me in at such a short notice! Thank you everyone at Bella Donna!

Worst pedicure I have ever had. I was looking forward to my pedicure for 2 weeks, and I have never been that disappointed. The chair was less comfortable than those in my living room. There were no massage chairs or soaking whirlpool--just a bucket that had water in it. The atmosphere was anything but soothing, and the nail tech had no skill whatsoever. She did not exfoliate my feet at all, I left with the same dead skin and cracked heels with which I arrived, and she got nailpolish all over my toes. It was extraordinarily expensive given the service. This place really needs to do something about its nail services or simply eliminate this service all together and focus on massage, which possibly was better. However, they really should not be selling their nail service as a "spa service." You would get better spa service at one of those discount nail places in the strip mall.
