I recently came in with my mom for a pedicure and I left with my feet peeling and rough. My mom had her pinky toe nail trimmed and filed too roughly and may need to see an MD. What kind of service is this for an upscale salon? I paid 100 dollars for my feet to glamorous and this was not even satisfactory. I will not return based on this experience. Nice staff but end result was not quality!

I treat myself to Koi spa on a special occasion and the experience is absolutely fantastic.
The ambience is calming and soothing. Its very clean and hygienic.
The aestheticians are knowledgeable and do not push you to 'upgrade' or sell products.
I've usually had facials and they've been pretty good.
Would definitely recommend to my girlfriends.

I love places that have organic products. I had an organic facial and I felt like the woman was knowledgeable, experienced, and respectful of my facial time, not chatting too much, focusing on keeping me calm and relaxed. Great time.

I had an all organic facial at Koi and thought it was wonderful. They were very knowledgeable about their products and services and seem to always be adding the newest, high quality products and services.

Koi spa is definitely on of the best spa's around Princeton New Jersey.I had a great experience with them. I tried 20 minute express facial, Swedish massage and pedicure. The spa area is very clean and tidy and overall very hygienic. The Front desk staff was also very helpful and cooperative.

Great Massage, Bad Front/Check-in & Check-out
-
3.00 out of 5 stars
Services themselves are great, if you can get past the check-in ,"tour" and check-out experience. Not sure I was able to relax in the end as I was annoyed at the overall experience.
Spa had a lovely relaxing seating area where you wait for your treatment to begin, but getting to this point was anything by that. Upon check in, you are asked if you want a robe to change into (of course!) and if you do, you need to give in your licence or credit card. huh? where am I going to go? We laughed at the women, but she was serious. DL it was.
"Tour", their name for it: We were shown to a micro sized locker room & toilet area right off the front desk. (no showers or towels around) Men and Women were to share. We were told to "change quickly!" and get into the main sitting room. We were there 25 minutes early. Still not sure why the rush. As she ran away I asked if there were other areas as on the website it talked about sauna's, whirlpools etc... "Oh. well that's in the locker rooms". Fine. I found the ladies locker room on my own. Men's appears to be off-limits(?) just told "upstairs". We decide that it appears we aren't allowed to use it.
Post-massage. Very happy. Finally find someone to show us the men's locker rooms and confirm there are showers to wash off the oils and we are allowed to enter. Found the other amenities on our own which are nice.
Check-out: Come outside to employees getting yelled at over where the trash should be located. Really? I was relaxed & now I feel for the ladies behind the desk. Check -out & have to ask for my DL back as they forgot it. Really almost left without. Would it be a bad idea to charge an extra $1 a massage so you can afford to lose a couple robes instead of making me leave something behind? It just didn't leave me with that "spa" feeling, although it should have. The place is nice, its just the process that needs some work.

I really do not know where to begin - -... I would like to start with the one comment by "spajunkie" - just a FYI Laura Cummins walked out on her team and have not been heard from since Jan 08' and same with Akilah, you must work at KOI to write such lies about the company, everyone there is miserable and hate the Manager Christine - not once in the hand full amount of times that I have been there have I seen her, and if I did she makes to point to ask customers if we need anything or to even say Hello - she is a very rude women!!! Trust me , when you wait long enough for your appointment and your sitting there not being noticed , its pretty amazing all the back talk that goes around -- not to mention how dirty the spa is. between the employees and services I dont see any reason to go back -

Response from Koi Spa
The relevance of an event that occurred almost two years ago holds little importance. What is relevant is that Koi Spa Salon has prospered in these years. The spa and salon have attracted some of the most talented sylistis, nail technicians, estheticians, and massage therapists in the greater Princeton area under the management of its Spa Director. They bring not only their expertise but also a professionalism, which includes courtesy, friendliness, and sincere caring for their clients. That is why Koi Spa Salon is not only growing its client base but retaining it as well. The standards set by Koi SpaSalon include the highest degree of cleanliness. The facility is maintained nightly by a cleaning staff as well as maintained during the day by the spa and salon staffs. It is for these high standards that Koi SpaSalon has been named one of the "Top Spa and Salons in New Jersey" by New Jersey Life Magazine.

Koi Spa in Princeton has a very nice, calming reflection room that compliments their service offerings. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and appointments are usually flexible if made within a week or so. Facials and massages are a delight. Must try the couples massage. I also utilize their hair salon for about 2 yrs now and love the way Kelly cuts and styles my hair in such an effortless manner.

Hi L aura,
I have to mention that your front desk staff, specifically Akilah, was extremely kind . She not only remembered me as I walked in but made sure that she came to find me to say good night as she was leaving for the evening. People like that really help with any experience, good or bad!
I also want to mention that the technicians my sister and I had were wonderful. Facials are always a concern for fear that blemishes are always the end result. No need to worry about that with Magda and Andrea. Both are very knowledgeable and professional. Its because of them that we will be returning quite often for regular skin care.
Thank you again for your follow-up with me. Good luck to you and hopes for great success in 2008!
Happy New Year - Sophia
