Alexander Massage Clinic & Day Spa includes a spa and an on-site massage school where guests may take advantage of the unique techniques and products developed by the school's faculty and Aliesha Alexander. The 4,000-square-foot facility has ten treatment rooms and two massage and party rooms, and a garden area with plans to create a seasonal outdoor treatment area. There is also a steam area, a dry sauna, showers, and a Finnish shower. To insure quality and reasonable rates, all practitioners are trained at the on-site massage school. Spa services include massage, a salt glow body polish, wraps, and Zen Bodytherapy®, a type of structural bodywork. Supervised services with student interns are discounted and the spa hosts events including parties.Location

I found Alexander Massage School a couple of years ago, when I was on a pretty tight budget, and fell in love. I have been back multiple times, and though the budget is less tight now, I have gotten such excellent treatment each time, that I continue to return.

I decided to book a spa treatment at Alexander School of Natural Therapeutics after hearing about their discounted student massages from a friend - I figured even on a budget I could come up with the $30 or $40 for an hour of relaxation - and I loved it! I've been back twice and would absolutely recommend it to anyone. The clinic is much cozier and private than other massage schools that I've been to, and they offer traditional massages (Swedish & deep tissue) as well as variations such as the Hot Stone Massage (fabulous, especially in the winter!) and spa treatments like wrap, masks, etc. I have consistently been impressed by their offerings, their professionalism, and of course, the lack of a huge dent in my wallet! I want to keep going back and trying their other services! Next up: the aromatherapy massage.

Great place to enjoy the therapeutic treatments, wraps, scrubs, massage, steam & sauna, I love them all! My favorite is hot stone massage followed closely by the facial massage. Mmmmm Mmmmm! I went in thinking I wanted a relaxation massage but after talking with Tammy we decided that some deep tissue work would be needed too. Tammy really focused on my legs, which were very tight and this relieved knee discomfort that I had been experiencing for the last few weeks. She also recommended stretching more and yoga, I really have noticed a difference since my visit and have recommended Tammy and Alexander School of Natural Therapeutics to my friends. They also offer very affordable rates.

I have been a client for the past several years off and on at Alexander & I've always enjoyed my massages there. After starting a new exercise program recently, I decided I could use a good massage so used a certificate for a local therapist that I had received. I was left sore and miserable for days so decided to go back to Alexander where I have always had a positive experience. This time I've scheduled a new spa experience....I'm looking forward to a seaweed wrap - I use both students & licensed therapists. No point in going other places when I'm happy with the services I receive!

I've had many massages before, and at several different spas/facilities - I have to say that I really enjoyed my experience at Alexander very much, and look forwrad to returning many times, and trying several of the treatments that they offer. I've been to Alexandar's twice now and had a good experience both times. I had the aromatherapy facial and the salt glow rub and enjoyed both of them. They use high quality lotions and the staff (and students) are very professional. The only area I see for improvement is the ambiance. Although everything is clean the decor is a little worn out. Don't expect a high end spa experience and you'll be very happy with the treatment.

This was my first massage after having back surgery AND it exceeded my expectations. In fact, it rates as one of my best. I've received over 30 massages from Alexandar's students in the last 10 years and over 90% I have loved; only a few were just okay. But I say to myself where can you have someone rub your back for 60 minutes for half the cost of salons. Being on a budget and loving massages, the school provides a beautiful opportunity to pamper oneself. They are always clean, friendly and professional. Many of the students are surprisingly talented; you wouldn't know they just left the classroom. The facility is not luxurious. However, they do an incredible job with their available resources.

I loved the atmosphere and how well trained the staff was. The rooms are cozy, relaxing, peaceful and full of warmth. My masseuse was very patient and caring. She asked me how I felt during the massage and what areas I wanted her to concentrate on. She also explained what she was doing and how it would help me body to let go of the tension I had. She was very friendly and made sure that the massage table was warm and not too hot. There was classical music playing in the background and that was incredibly soothing. When you first step into the massage clinic the staff greets you and offers you water. After the massage they ask you for your honest feedback on how the massage went. Personally I enjoyed the fact that I could be honest with my masseuse. I was able to tell her where to massage a bit harder or where it started to hurt. She respected my body and how I felt. The experience gave me a sense of happiness and brightened my day up. Their prices are wonderful and they offer so many types of special deals and discounts. I truly enjoy the products they sell. I bought an oil bottle from them and love the wonders that it does to my body and health. I am glad that Alexandar Massage Clinic was recommended to me. I have to say that each time I have gone, I come out with a satisfied feeling.

If you don't have the budget for a $60-100 massage, the Alexandar School is the only place I know of where you can get quality work for a great price. Chery is beyond her years in skill and even though the atmosphere isn't perfect, I'm not there just to relax, I'm there to get knots out, so as long as the work is this good, there could be a marching band in the next room and I'd still go.

This may be a school, but they must take great strides in training their students to not only take care of the client but I noticed that they are concerned with teaching their students how to take care of themselves. Chery (my masseuse) was in tune with my muscles. She knew the right pressure and when to move to another area. I enjoyed that she didn't fill the silence with unnessecary chit-chat. I had a massage with Qwanzetta on my birthday 5/22/09. She did a great job, was very gentle, kind, and considerate. I would go to her again and would recommend her. She is especially good on the feet. I had low back pain issues and she did some good stretching and tappotment. I felt very comfort able after the massage treatment.

I was very happy with the Alexander Massage Spa. I was greeted warmly and professionally. My massage was done by students, but as good as any other massage I've had. The bonus was the price. In the past 3 years, I have been the victim of 2 MVA's. The most recent was last December when I was hot by a drunk driver. My body has been tied up in knots since then and I only find true relief through movement and masssage. Because I go weekly, I cannot afford to go to a high and Spa or Chiropractors office where they charge upwards of $100 at times for deep tissue therapy. I choose Alexandar Massage School in Tacoma. It is only $30 for a student and a litle more for a LMP. They are easy to locate, easy to park and their massages take place in a cozy spa-like evironment. They never skip on your hour and always use the finest products on your skin. Plus, they do Spa treatements..wraps, scrubs, etc... for really cheap. Trust me, go here once and you will never go back to the expensive Spas!

I loved this place. I am not a massage person. I honestly don't like to be touched by strangers, but Amber made me feel so comfortable that I never thought about that at all. I love the setting (a warm, comfortable home), and the hot stone massage felt so fantastic in these bone chilling months. I highly recommend Alexander's. It was easy to find, easy to park, and the people friendly. Amber is great. Thank you!!

Great experience. This place has it all! Sauna, steam room, Swedish/Finnish shower, spa treatments, massages, body work, they accept insurnace, they sell the products they use in their treatments. What's not to love about the school and clinic.

I've had 2 massages at this school, and I came away feeling exactly as I hoped I would feel. It was very relaxing. One thing that stands out about this school, is the location of the rooms. It's in an older house, so you have your massage in a private area, which is very nice. I plan to go back as often as possible.

The price for the quality of massage you get is great. It seems like they have a pretty good program, that teaches their students well. You can choose a LMP or a Smp, the main difference is the price, but it also depends on how long they have been in the program. I would recommend Alexandar to anyone that wants a massage or wants to learn how to massage.

This place is Tacoma's best kept secret! Wonderful massages by well-trained students at 1/2 the price (or less!) than expensive salons. I usually go once a month for relaxation and have never been disappointed. Try the swedish or stone massage and add on the sauna/shower for an extra treat. I could not believe that I could recieve such an incredible massage from a school for the price that Alexandars charge. I have only used one of the liscensed therapists, but I have heard that the students offer great massages for even less of a charge. The staff was very professional and friendly. I found it to be the quality of a higher end massage for less then half the cost.

I love this school/spa! It is the best place I know to receive professionally executed student treatments. I have been exceedingly happy with the swedish massage & spa treatments (from salt glows to seaweed wraps!) The building & students give off a nice vibe and the place is tastefully decorated indoors and out. I am a big fan of the wood floors and the Finnish shower. What a find! I almost want to keep it to myself!

It's a great massage school where you can make very affordable appointments with students and instructors. The students (depending on how much time they've been there) do things very 'by the book', but it's always a great massage. The instructors are a little more expensive, but still way cheaper than any other day spas! My husband & I both go there at least once a month and we love it.

I feel like I am in an actual spa when I visit Alexander school of massage. Very professional and curtious staff and studnets provide an array of wonderful spirit lifting procedures. I have been going to them for many years.

A great place to go for a massage when you're on a budget. The students are always courteous and have a fair amount of knowledge. Sometimes difficult to schedule a time on weekends that works, but I just plan on scheduling well in advance.

I didn't know what I would find on my first visit to this clinic. I was pleasantly surprised to find both students and licensed people working together...side by side and helping one another. The massage was one of the best I have ever had and I have brought my friends back here with me now several times. I will continue to come here and I thank you for leading me to such a great place.
