About Copamarina Beach Resort
Copamarina Beach Resort is situated on Puerto Rico's southwestern coast along the Caribbean Sea, far from the jam-packed tourist capital of San Juan. This low-key 20-acre resort features an abundance of tropical plants and palm trees surrounding its tin-roofed buildings. The natural splendor of Puerto Rico is easily accessible from the property, whose half-mile-long private beach invites guests to explore crystal-clear waters from a rented boat available on the premises. In addition, the adjacent 9,900-acre Guanica Biosphere Reserve, the world's largest dry forest reserve, offers untouched tropical scenery with 36 miles (57 kilometers) of hiking for all skill levels. Bodyderm Spa is a cozy 1,200 facility specializing in healing massage and relaxing body treatments.
For travelers seeking luxury travel at a bargain, the resort offers all-inclusive packages that integrate accommodations, meals, entertainment, and non-motorized water sports. Children 12 years of age and under can stay in the same room as their parents for no additional charge. Kids can stay busy at the children's pool or the playground as their parents enjoy spa treatments or a workout at the state-of-the-art fitness center. Outdoor nature adventures for adults or families (including horseback riding and seasonal whale-watching) provide popular off-property options.

Rooms & Dining
Copamarina's has 106 guest rooms, suites, and villas, all of which offer either ocean or garden views. Spacious rooms feature tile floors, thick wood Venetian shutters, and generously proportioned state-of-the-art bathrooms. Private balconies are ideal for enjoying the breathtaking tropical scenery that abounds on the property. Up to six people can comfortably stay in one of the resort's two available 2,600-square-foot (242 square meters) oceanview villas.
Two restaurants offer tasty dishes in open-air environments that incorporate nature as an aesthetic element. Alexandra serves Caribbean delicacies prepared with a classical, elegant flair such as whole fried snapper with mojo, tostones, and asopao de langosta (lobster soup). A selection of vegetarian options is available at each meal. Breakfast, lunch, and sunset cocktails can be enjoyed in a casual al fresco setting at Las Palmas Cafe. Nightly shows and musical performances are put on at the Cafe until 11:00 p.m.

Activities
Between relaxing spa treatments, water sports, and the biosphere reserve adjacent to the resort, guests have an array of opportunities to enjoy Copamarina's tropical setting. Additionally, a tennis pro offers lessons on two courts that are lit for night play. A volleyball court invites guests to challenge each other in impromptu games.
The resort offers a broad range of boats and crafts for guest rental, including kayaks, sailboats, catamarans, and paddleboats. Fishing enthusiasts can bait a hook and hope for a bite from the marlin and snapper that congregate in the placid waters of the Caribbean Sea. Guests can also earn diving certification through a full range of on-site PADI (Professional Association of Diving Instructors) instruction courses. Just five minutes from the resort by ferry, Gilligan's Island (named after the television show, whose eponymous island it resembles) provides a secluded locale for diving, snorkeling, and swimming near a coral reef.
The Guanica Biosphere Reserve, one of only six protected areas in Puerto Rico, is the world's largest dry forest reserve. The forest remains dry because the nearby Coderillera Mountains cause the rainfall to evaporate before it can reach the Caribbean shore. The reserve encompasses miles of overgrown coastline, mangrove islands, and off-shore coral reefs. Hiking trails are clearly marked and can be navigated with or without the assistance of a guide. Nature enthusiasts can view more than 700 species of trees and plants, 16 of which can only be found at the reserve. More than 100 species of migratory and resident birds make their home here, including the endangered Puerto Rican bullfinch, the Puerto Rican whippoorwill, and the orange-cheeked waxbill.
