Bad first Impression

I have to agree with others that the word spa is misleading. However I guess you can always research where your going in advance live and learn, I was glad I made enquiries first. As for shabby i didnt stay too long to take it all in. However the first impression was of someone on reception not in therapist uniform. Therapists sitting about not doing anything and a big dog in the reception area. On the whole not very welcoming and I think they need to make some improvements before they use the word Spa.

the premises was shabby and unclean . we didn't stay long enough for any treatments as we didn't feel comfortable or relaxed . the staff were friendly but the word spa is misleading and it was very unhygienic.

Great for treatments, not like Champneys though!

Just come back from Laurabella and through the lack of reviews, felt compelled to write. The treatments were great and executed with expertise. Laurabella is set next to a farm and is basically a house with treatment rooms, a hot tub outside (like a normal one rich people have) and a sauna in a wooden summer house. It worked fine but just to set the scene, it is not like a Champneys set up. I had a Himalayan Salt scrub (gritty, well applied, smelt great), Body Wrap (smelt gross but apparently the worse they smell, the better they are) and a back massage. All the treatments were completed excellently but the "spa" is very deserted and it felt odd me and my bf were the only couple there. (We visitied on a weekday). Due to be extended, there is currently no pool and there are things that are a bit tired: towels, rugs etc. I would not visit again only because I am after the whole SPA experience with steam room, tepidarium, larconium etc. That said, treatments were not to be faulted. Staff were friendly, welcoming etc but I felt self-conscious being the only couple and having been to PennyHill Park which was absolute luxury - this is a bit more low rent. U have to bring your own gowns / towels too.

Not really spa standard

I have just visited the Laurabella Day Spa and have come away with very mixed views. I booked a microdermbrasion facial, salt body scrub, eyebrow wax, pedicure with gel overlays and a manicure. The treatments themselves and the staff were 100% so if you are rating this spa based on that alone, I would definitely re-visit. The biggest thing that let Laurabella down as a business is the word SPA. I have visited places like Chewton Glen Hotel and Spa which is a 5* spa and other spa's in Dubai and all have been second to none. To me a spa is complete break from the everyday hustle and bustle however at Laurabella, you are moved from room to room to have the differing treatments. It is very old fashioned decor and unfortunately I even have to say, unclean. There was muck on the floors and the walls needed re-painting. The room in which my manicure and pedicure was completed was an outdoor wooden summerhouse which had dirty counters, un-hoovered carpets and felt quite cold. One lady sat on the floor whilst I had the pedicure done and half way through another young lady did my manicure which meant that I had to be twisted round for her to reach my left hand. It was very uncomfortable but that is the set up rather than the therapists.

Relaxing, revitalising, refreshing

This is a great place to go to for any number of beauty treatments. I generally go for a pedicure but have experience facials and manicures here and always been very well looked after. The therapists are very relaxed - not in your face at all and no hard sell for products that you don't necessarily want. Always very accomodating with regard to making appointments that fit in with your life. They are based in an unusual setting but it's so quiet there you really do feel your cares slip away. They also have group day packages available which are a great idea for hen days/get togethers with friends.
