SpaFinder Purchases Interest in SpaBoom to Provide New Services, Value for Its Spa Marketing Partners
SpaBoom Technology to Power a Range of SpaFinder Marketing Platforms; Companies Will Market Their Services to 16,000+ Spas Through New Partnership
New York, NY - October 2nd, 2007
SpaFinder, the global spa resource, has purchased an interest in SpaBoom, a fast-growing online spa marketing services company that currently provides more than 1,300 day spas with the ability to sell Instant Gift Certificates on their websites. Through this strategic investment, the companies will market their respective offerings to their 4,500+ non-overlapping spa customers as well as the 11,500 additional spas that compose the U.S. spa market.
The agreement involves sharing technology as well as customers. SpaFinder plans to integrate SpaBoom’s technology into several of its spa marketing platforms, notably its industry-leading online spa gift certificates program, which currently drives business to more than 4,000 spa marketing partners through sales at SpaFinder.com. It’s also anticipated that SpaFinder will roll SpaBoom’s spa gift certificates tool into its new SpaBooker spa management system, enabling participating spas to complement the business they receive through the SpaFinder Gift Certificates program with Instant Gift Certificate sales generated on their own sites.
“Our investment in SpaBoom is part of our commitment to help our spa marketing partners succeed in an increasingly competitive marketplace,” said SpaFinder, Inc. CEO Pete Ellis. “We’re looking forward to providing spas with a new level of marketing value that’s going to immediately pay off with more customers and more profits for them.”
“Gift certificates, which typically represent between 10 and 25 percent of a spa’s total sales, are a critical source of revenues and customers for spas,” added Bill Bice, SpaBoom’s founder and CEO. “This agreement will enable our shared customers to increase gift certificate sales on two powerful fronts: their own web sites and SpaFinder’s vast distribution network. It’s really about creating the best of both worlds for our clients and ultimately increasing their reach and revenues in the process.”
Ellis and Bice both anticipate a deepening partnership moving forward, leveraging the companies’ respective technological, data and marketing strengths and services to develop new solutions and ideas for the global spa industry.
