Four Seasons Resort Costa Rica at Peninsula Papagayo

Always extremely luxurious and impeccably tasteful, Four Seasons lives up to its reputation in its Costa Rican incarnation, whose design was inspired by butterfly wings. On a once hard-toreach Pacific coast site now served by a direct flight, the hotel offers visitors rooms with a balcony view and private suites with outdoor terraces.

Readers say a main attraction at the spa is the many treatments using indigenous ingredients: scrubs and baths that involve coffee, mango, Guanacaste (sea) salt, shredded coconuts or vanilla beans, and wraps with rain forest mud, green coffee, and Central American seaweed.
