ABOUT US

In the heart of Harvard Square, minutes from the Ivy League university’s quads and downtown Boston, the Corbu Spa & Salon at The Charles Hotel presents a bit of French flair against the classic allure of New England. Named after famed architect and designer Le Corbusier, Corbu Spa invites guests to escape the stresses of urban life with a French-influenced spa menu, complemented by rejuvenating farm-to-table treatments, many of which utilize ingredients freshly sourced from the AAA Five Diamond hotel’s gardens. Fusing the restaurant and spa worlds, Corbu’s seasonal rituals are inspired by the chefs at the hotel’s culinary options—the award-winning Rialto, and Henrietta’s Table, where diners feast on New England bounty—and include skin-care and body treatments like Rialto’s Hot Herbal Poultice Journey and the New England Seasonals collection.

SERVICES & CLASSES

Corbu Spa & Salon at the Charles Hotel invites guests to be swept away by a French-inspired spa menu that celebrates “la vie en rose.” To add to the unique experience, many treatments incorporate fresh ingredients sourced from the hotel’s gardens, and the ever-changing seasonal signature body scrubs and wraps are inspired by the hotel’s chefs at the award-winning Henrietta’s Table and Rialto Restaurant. A modality of facials – anti-aging, detoxifying, hydrating and refreshing – and massage – custom, deep tissue, hot stone and Swedish – are offered, and hair and beauty services can be taken in the salon. The nature-inspired Corbu Spa features seven treatment rooms, including a private “room for two.”

Facilities & Amenities

Within minutes of the Charles Hotel are the brick-lined streets and secret gardens of Beacon Hill neighborhood, the upscale shops of Newbury Street and Copley Place, and the Charles River. Sightseeing tours by foot or trolley are common pastimes for tourists; Freedom Trail is among the most popular and comprises 16 historic sites, including the Boston Common, the USS Constitution, Faneuil Hall and Quincy Market. Downtown Boston is 10 minutes away, and the hotel is an easy drive from Cape Cod.

The Charles Hotel offers its own sense of adventure, with family friendly activities like biking and snowshoeing, culinary classes and the Regattabar Kids Summer Music Series. Guests enjoy complimentary access to the neighboring Wellbridge Athletic Club, which sports a three-story gym and lap pool, and during the winter months, they are welcome to slip on skates and use the hotel’s 2,900-square-foot ice skating rink. When night falls, guests can mingle with locals at the hotel’s Noir Bar, voted “best nightlife,” by Food & Wine, or listen to live jazz at the famed Regattabar Jazz Club.

Rooms & Dining

Guest rooms, found on floors three through ten, feature classic comforts and views of Harvard Square, Cambridge and Boston. Guests can lounge on custom-designed down quilts and take advantage of complimentary WiFi access, LCD flat-panel TV and Bose Wave® radio amenities. Bathrooms are fashioned with Séura® in-mirror TVs and Italian waffle bathrobes and slippers.

Superb regional-inspired creations by Chef Peter Davis are available at the award-winning Henrietta’s Table, which serves breakfast, lunch and dinner daily, along with a weekend brunch. The hotel has two additional restaurants: Noir Bar offers cocktails and light fare in an enticing environment that mimics the glamorous appeal of 1940s nightlife; Rialto Restaurant, led by James Beard-awarded chef and owner Jody Adams, provides rustic Italian dishes and a design as sumptuous as its menu. A white-stone pathway reminiscent of an ancient Roman road leads diners to an airy dining room bedecked in pumpkin-, olive- and white-hued draperies that offset curved banquettes and cozy seating areas. Vine-twined trellises envelop the outdoor terrace.
