Shangri-La Hotel’s fifth level, or “wellness floor,” not only houses Miraj Hammam Spa by Caudalie Paris, but a 10,000-square-foot, 24-hour health and fitness center, with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the cityscape. Guests can get their heart rates up with solo workouts on Technogym equipment, or in group yoga, aerobics, or spinning classes in a private studio. Additionally, the wellness floor houses a dazzling indoor swimming space, with a 20-meter-long, glass- and stone-tiled pool, flooded by natural light from overhead skylights and bordered by curtained cabanas; other amenities include an infrared sauna, Jacuzzi, and locker rooms with steam areas.
Shangri-La Hotel’s idyllic location in the center of Toronto’s financial and entertainment districts makes sightseeing effortless. North of the hotel is the Art Gallery of Ontario, famous for its 80,000-plus art-piece collection, while to the south is the city’s waterfront district, where days can be spent boutique shopping and café hopping. Northwest of the hotel lies the theater district.
