Anguilla

A newcomer to the tourism industry, Anguilla has shunned mega-resorts and casinos in favor of smaller luxury hotels and villas. The small, laid back island nation is a self-governing British possession and is best known for its miles of virtually untouched, white-sand beaches. (There are more than 30 of them). Ferries run regularly between Anguilla and the more bustling town of St. Martin, allowing you enjoy the latter's casinos, shopping, and restaurants. Only 9,000 people live on Anguilla, and its atmosphere is very warm and friendly.
